A small town sheriff, who’s half Native American, tries to protect an illegal mother and her children from a corrupt judge.

Half Kickapoo Indian and half white, DETECTIVE JACQUELINE “Jake” CUDGO (30’s) struggles to balance her Indian heritage with the white man’s sense of justice.
When a young Mexican mother tells Jake that she killed the town’s powerful judge, Jake learns that the judge is a pedophile who has been abusing the woman’s boy and his sister.
Vowing to protect the family, Jake secretly searches the Judge’s home and is startled to find the judge is still alive. She takes the judge’s videotapes of the kids being abused and his money, but she leaves the judge to die.
To her surprise, the Judge doesn’t die. Jake is assigned to investigate the case. Jake knows that the judge can’t tell the truth or he’ll be exposed. However, the Judge seeks revenge and sends, ZEEK, after Jake.

While pretending to investigate the case, Jake needs to stop Zeek and the judge. Her obsession, her propensity to drink, and her desire to push people away, destroys her romance with Russell, a locale veterinarian.
When Zeek and his goons attack Jake at her home, the mother of the children is killed.
