Paulo Freire is perhaps the most influential thinker about education and he is most famously noted for his work entitled, “Pedagogy of The Oppressed.” He provided us with a progressive new way of teaching. He was deeply concerned with the oppressed. He proposes pedagogy with a new relationship between teacher, student, and society. Freire made a number of important theoretical innovations that have had a considerable impact on the development of educational practice. Freire stressed a lot on ‘dialogue’ in informal education. “If the structure does not permit dialogue the structure must be changed.” He gave rise to the theory of the banking concept of education; he highlighted the contrasts between education forms that treat people as objects rather than subjects; and explored education as means of cultural action.

These types of models, such as the problem posing and the “community of learners” inspire new ways of thinking if adopted properly. It is important to keep in mind that everyone in society has something significant to contribute.
