He carried the religious call all over his life period and also remained clear with that by following those principles. While struggling for the spreading of the Peace in Medina, the Prophet (SAW) said to his followers that a Muslim can diminish hatred by showing their love towards people and also a Muslim can destroy the aggressiveness by spreading peacefulness. Prophet (SAW) also settled down the various conflicts aroused among the tribes of Medina by establishing a homogeneous community and founded a society where people from various ethnic origins, different religions were treated equally and allowed to practice their own religion. This is the most practical step taken by the Prophet (SAW) in order to create an atmosphere of peace and goodwill among the followers of different religions. Our Holy Prophet (SAW) also established social peace by spreading the ideas such as no one is superior in any possible way in front of god.
It is therefore through the sacred texts that a comparison of the understandings of peace in Christianity and Islam can be achieved. It is through an understanding of peace for each tradition that the beliefs can be compared in relation to the respective principal teachings. In conclusion Christians are guided by the New Testament in order to live a peaceful life in accordance to the teachings of Jesus Christ, practicing their beliefs and in turn affecting others. Muslims achieve peace through an understanding of the teachings revealed through the Qur’an and Hadith, this in turn leads to the ultimate goal of Islam: submission to Allah which is the only means of attaining peace with Allah.
They believe that in order for an individual to gain paradise after death, he or she should submit to the will of God. Also, the moral code of the Christian religion is the correct belief of having faith. Christian religion believes that they should always do good things to avoid bad things in order for them to emulate Jesus Christ. On the other hand, Islam religion has a different goal of life. They believed all Muslims should be faithful and sincere to their God (Allah).
Living their life in accordance to the divine Allah by living a life around the central and core sacred texts would enable an adherent to find an inner state of tranquillity and thus are able to contribute to world peace. The Hadith teaches and has emphasis on the priority of peace within Islam and states “The merciful are shown mercy by the All Merciful. Show mercy to those on earth and God will show mercy to you.” (Hadith – al Tirmidhi and Abu Da’ud) The “articles of faith” outline the 6 principal teachings of Islam. Peace found by personal and global means is central to Christianity and Islam as recorded directly in the Bible and Qur’an.
Jesus also emphasized the ethical teaching of Agape Love, which refers to how Christian should interact with others, and is therefore a guide to global peace. This teaching expresses Christian beliefs of “the divinity and humanity of Jesus and the trinity of God” because it reflects that one supreme God loves and cares for. It is a selfless love free from discrimination and is epitomized in Mark 12:28-31 “Lov... ... middle of paper ... ...ion to the will of Allah. Islam sees peace as consisting of two elements; to be at peace with God or inner peace, and secondly to be at peace with the rest of the world, or global peace. A significant teaching of the Quran is that of “submission,” which is expressed in the Quran as the only way of achieving inner peace.
Islam believes that each person is born pure. The Holy Quran tells us that God has given human beings a choice between good and evil and to seek God’s pleasure through faith, prayer and charity. Islam believes that God created mankind in His image and by imbuing the attributes of God on a human level mankind can attain His nearness. Islam’s main message is to worship God and to treat all God’s creation with kindness and compassion. Rights of parents in old age, orphans and the needy are clearly stated.
They only see an end though human means. Christianity sees an end through Jesus and Islam only though God. Through doing the research, it makes me appreciative to be a Christian. I like knowing that God has an interest in my life and I am never alone. It also shows me just how much He cares and loves for his creation through Him sending Jesus do die for our sins.
The Quran is also very practical in guiding Muslims to achieve inner peace, Surah 2:224, speaks of not letting anything get in the way of “doing good and guarding against evil and making peace”. Surah 25:63 says that God’s servants are those “who walk on the earth in humbleness, and when the ignorant address them, they say: Peace!” This scriptural verse teaches that in order to achieve inner peace they must show peace to others. In summary sacred texts provide adherents with the appropriate guidance in order too achieve inner peace. It is evident that in both religious traditions of Christianity and Islam that obedience to the scriptures, prayer and making peace with others allow believers to acquire inner peace.
True Christians should not be frightened to form a relationship with a Muslim. Muslims are part of this world just as we are. They can struggle with their faith just as we do. As Christians of this generation we should love them as our own. We should share the Gospel with each other, because we are all people of God.
This, in a nutshell, sums up the main idea of being a Muslim. Not only is love for god important... ... middle of paper ... ...t if you recite to them a single verse, the unbelievers will surely say; 'You preach nothing but falsehoods.' Thus God seals of ignorant men." (30:59) Among all responsibilities and requirements laid down in the Koran, I believe the most important aspect is that Allah and the Prophet, Muhammad, be a muslims first love and it is clear that this is so. There are many passages in surah 30 which support and convincingly convey that their must be a high level of love, honor and obedience for Allah and Muhammad the Prophet.
