"Peace and its opposite (that is war) depend on the ambassadors, since it is they who create and undo alliances." With this, the Laws of Manu, an ancient Hindu text, recognized the importance of diplomacy (through ambassadors/diplomats) as a builder of peace. Additionally, they say that man is continually in the pursuit of this so called ‘peace’. Thus, giving the notion that diplomacy has emerged from man’s inner desire for the purpose of stimulating tranquility. For instance, conflicts have been prevented from further escalation due to diplomatic tendencies. Therefore, diplomacy is the reason as to why certain countries can exist in harmony (Amacker, 2011). Moreover, diplomacy is a mechanism for exemplifying the state’s utmost interests and conducting negotiations to identify commonalities (Ameri, n.d.). After all, the intention to negotiate with others has always been uniform, to have better relations (Amacker, 2011). Due to this, one can say that diplomacy evolved in response to political needs reciprocally felt (Langhorne, 1998). Conclusively, diplomacy espouses peace for the different nations by prompting correlations amongst them, resolving disputes and of course, sustaining extant relationships for the benefit of a nation.

Firstly, building relations has always been effective for ensuing peace. In Greek mythology, Hermes, the god of messengers, came to be regarded by the other gods as an intermediary between the upper and lower worlds. Which in turn, helped Olympus establish a connection with Greece (Szykman, 1995). Coming back to reality, necessities and desires have been perpetrators in the establishment of an association between nations.
