On your wedding day, the thought of getting a divorce never enters your mind. Over time, relationships and circumstances change for a variety of reasons. Unfortunately in the United States approximately, 2.4 million individuals get a divorce each year. No one can really know if a marriage will end in divorce.

Constant conflict creates further tension which may lead to the final decision of legal separation or divorce. The choice to separate is never easy. In some circumstances, divorce may actually be the best solution for everyone in the family. During the process of divorce, legal issues, intense emotions, and custody conflicts can create heated discussions. The outcome may lead to bitterness and resentment for either party.

As each parent commits to the concept of focusing on the well-being of the children, children will learn by example. The difference is the communication method.

In some situations following a divorce, the former couple may still be in high conflict mode with one another. Parallel parenting restricts the way parents communicate with one another. Restricting the communication helps in keeping the children at the center of attention. Under some circumstances, parents require limited or complete avoidance of verbal communication. Basically, if you cannot communicate in an efficient manner with a former spouse, using parallel communication is the best option. During the limited times of communication, parents must handle each conversation with extreme care.
