Paintball War The very first time I ever played paintball was the most awesome/terrifying day of my life. I can still vividly remember the whole experience to this day, I was around 14 years old super short as I hadn’t hit my growth spurt yet and was super excited to go paintballing with friends. It was overcast when we pulled up to K.C Crusaders and paid for our equipment and checked out the section of forest where we would be playing, it was awesome there was a small river, little wooden boards for cover, and even some old cars that were just tossed in there. I could hardly contain my excitement the whole 30 minutes that we waited for the game to start, finally one of the referees came and told us that it was time to start and briefed us on the rules of paintball capture the flag. When we entered the arena ( not …show more content…
For the first few moments it was silent, then people started spraying paintballs into the forest, I was forced to run behind a tree so to avoid getting lit up like a fish in a barrel. The moment i ducked behind the tree it was hit at least 15 times and by that point I was freaking out, there was literally nowhere to go and I hadn't expected it to be so ruthless, so as I sat there sweating bullets and listening to the paintballs slamming into the tree with loud cracks I started feeling that survival instinct that people get when in a fight or flight situation. I decided to go with the smarter option, I dove behind the nearest board then peeked up and started spraying paintballs into the forest. Anything that moved I shot at furiously, and for a while whoever had been shooting at me backed off a bit in surprise for a bit, but had no other choice but to keep on shooting back. We kept on going back and forth this way for about fifteen minutes when whoever it was stopped shooting and I knew that they were changing positions and that it was probably only one other person that I was up against, I checked my hopper and found that it was a

Paintball is not just a group of people shooting each other with paintball markers; the sport involves a few simple rules. These rules are from the NPA and are the most commonly used. All paintballs that break on the body count as an elimination and that player is out. Any player within ten feet has the option of surrender and has 3 seconds to do so, any movement from that player and his “chance” is over. All markers must be chronographed at fewer than 300 fps. A hit from a teammate does not count as an elimination. The paintball must pop on a player to count as an elimination. Any player hit with a ball must call out “HIT” and raise his or her gun in the air and walk off of the playing field. All players must stay in the designated boundaries or they will be counted as out. Barrel plugs must be used at all times when not on the playing field.
As we knocked our arrow in the bow we strolled into the woods as quiet as a mouse. Kevin showed me where the stand was and i went into game mode. I climbed in the stand and i started to look around. Less than 30 minutes a 4 pointer came at 23 yards but since it was small i let him walk. I had about 10 minutes of light left and it has been 2 hours since i seen him. Crashhhhh. A doe was at 20 yards. I drew back and looked threw the sites. I seen that she had no idea i was there and i felt bad if i would have taken her life. I diss drawn and let the doe walk.
In conclusion, the author’s use internal conflict, mood shifts, and imagery to convey how dehumanizing effects of war can change a person, also one’s relationship with loved ones. The author’s use of mood shift in the story foreshadows that the sniper will hurt or even kill relations with someone, but this comes to be known that it will come back to heart him more than it did the other person. As at the start is war foul and cruel as we thought or is it uses as humans that make war such evil things.
Since time began there has always been conflict. Whether it be religious, race oriented, or conflict over land. Conflicts have lead countries and nations to amass armies. While some armies are small, others may be vast in size. No matter the size of the Army they all have one thing in common… their Soldiers. As Non-Commissioned Officers we would be without a profession if we did not take care of, and retain our Soldiers. Through their mishaps and mistakes it is our job to lead them as they will, hopefully, be taking over our position as they climb the ladder to becoming the next great leader we aspire them to become. However, as in life, there are always trials and tribulations that come with life in the Military. We have all had Soldiers with
What is a story? A story to me can be either a combination of characters and actions which can be fake or real. More like an adventure story used more for entertainment. Another example can be historical events a serious of events in the past which can be used for future learning. There are many different interpretations for a story. Many ways of telling a story also, for example the usual way of tell a scary story. Being in total darkness with a group of friends around each other and having one flash light for the story teller. It just makes the story a little spookier. Every story has its own unique way of telling it right.
To some people, it is only noise but to me, it was a whole new world. I can still remember the first time I heard a round whiz past my ear, the cars passing by, or SSG Blue yelling at me to get down. At that moment, I realized that I was not training anymore. I was made aware that everything and everyone were out to kill me. I kept telling myself, “I shouldn’t be here.” Mentally, I can hear my mother in the background crying just as the day she did when she found out I joined the military. My life was not the same nor will it ever be the same. In my first combat tour I learned the importance of life, how to mentally prepare myself for the worst outcomes, and I learned how to be a great leader.
It is not every day you see a three-year-old walking around the park or grocery store clutching the soggy ear of a plush Winnie the Pooh that has been sucked on in one hand, and a photograph of a disabled veteran in the other. Nonetheless, if you were in my neighborhood that is exactly what you would have seen.
One of my favorite memories in my sports career was in the third grade, being the first year I played tackle football instead of flag football. This transition was a huge step for me because at such a young age I have never had much contact before. On the fifth day of practice after completing the conditioning our coach yelled, “time to hit!” Being a bunch of little kids we all screamed with extreme joy as this is the first time we get to tackle each other. My face grew the biggest smile as I was up first to tackle one of teammates. Our coach explained the

Gears of War 3 is hands down the best developed Gears game in the franchise. Whether your talking about the story, visuals, sound design, multiplayer or overall content. Gears of War 3's presentation stands heads and toes over its predecessors. Sure you experience those classic weird Unreal Engine physic glitches like Locust legs wiggling and protruding from walls or the ground.
Before you shoot your first paintball you need to take into consideration the type of clothing you wear to paintball. A general rule of thumb is the more padding the less bruises. If you are playing in a wooded area, fatigues are an obvious choice, but playing indoors, a couple of shirts and a pair of jeans work very well. It is also a good idea to wear a pair of gloves with the fingers cut off, because if you are hit in the hand with a paintball it stings. The same thing goes with a hat. There is one thing that you must never play paintball without. That is a face mask. It needs to cover your entire face and include goggles. If you are hit in the eye with a paintball it will put your eye out.

I was enlisted in the army on 23 June 1999 as an Infantry rifleman in 4th Battalion Singapore Infantry Regiment. Initially I hated the army and signing on in the army never cross my mind. I hated the army for many reasons. The regimentation, waking up very early in the morning everyday, no freedom and sometimes even been punished by the Sergeant for no apparent reason. I only decided to take up Army as a career after I ORD in 2001 when I actually miss being a soldier. The army life is so full of adventure, toughness and camaraderie.
When I was seventeen I nervously traveled about 350 miles from my sleepy little home town of Freedom, Wyoming to the relatively enormous city of Boise, Idaho to go to the Military Entrance Processing Station. This wasn 't the first time I had been this far from home by myself, but it was the first time I was making adult decisions without my parents involvement. When it came time for me to choose my job in the army the counselors presented me with a long list that I qualified for. I got tired of scrolling and reading so I chose the first job that I actually understood. I returned home and excitedly told my parents that I would be an infantry soldier. My dad 's response to this might be considered a little less than heart warming “You dumb ass. Why didn 't you choose
