Paintball is a fast and furious sport. It is played on both a social and serious level by over 16 million people around the world
(Cooke,11). It is one of the fastest growing sports on the planet. Paintball's history, games, guns, and safety are all part of the fun.
In 1970, James Hale, an engineer, invented and patented the first commercially successful paintball gun. Paintball guns were first used by the National Forest Association to mark trees that would be cut down. Then, it was used to mark cattle by cowboys. One night while sitting around a campfire, one cowboy shot another and that is how the game of paintball got started.
This "splotchmaker" can rightfully claim to be the grandfather of modern paintball guns (Peters, 73).
Over the next two decades, Daisy
Manufacturing Co. Inc. of Airgun
Frames manufactured these guns under contract for the Nelson Paint
Co. During this twenty year span, paintball evolved from a
"survivalist" game into the wholesome, exciting, family game it is today.
In paintball, there are two teams equipped with paintball markers.
These are basically low-powered airguns that fire small capsules of paint. It is not a dangerous sport.
The only real danger is getting hit in the eye with a paintball.
Wearing specific goggles made for paintball easily stops this danger.
This rule is strictly enforced at all reputable playing fields worldwide. Obviously if a player is out of sight of the referee and takes off his mask, then he is looking for trouble. American
Insurance statistics show that it is safer to play paintball than to play golf or go fishing (Pierce,
17). Getting hit by a paintball generally does not hurt. You may get an occasional bruise, but on the whole the game is not painful.
The excitement certainly outweighs any momentary discomfort a player may feel. To lesson the chance of being bruised, long sleeved shirts and pants are highly recommended.
To be on the safe side, more than one layer should be worn. Bright colors should be avoided, purely because the more visible you are, the more likely you are to be shot.
Most people like to wear camouflage clothing. This helps them to blend into the environment and not be easily shot. Also, good quality hiking or trail boots with ankle support is a good idea to protect both feet and ankles.

...If the surrounding team captures the item and returns it to their station, they win. Also, surrounding players alive at the end of the game can be assigned a point value to make their rescue even more important.
The last game is a continuous play game. The only extra items you need are a paper punch and a player card. This is a great game to play when you have a continuous stream of experienced players arriving on the field at different times. Each player is given a card to keep track of how many times he or she is eliminated. When eliminated, the player comes off the field, punches the card and returns to the game.
The team loses points every time a team member is eliminated. The team gains points every time they bring back the opposing side’s flag.
Paintball is a fun and serious game. It does not glorify war. It is an old paintball adage that the sport actually proves how easy it is to be shot. The supporters of paintball like to prefer the sport as a tactical game of skill.
(Cooke, 93) You need to wear protection and play fair so everyone stays safe. Also, you can play the regular, basic games or make up your own. The most important thing is to have fun and play responsibly.
People accumulate different feelings throughout the average day, yet there are usually no ways to adequately and legally let out those pent up frustrations. Dodgeball, luckily provides a solution. The author of an article named “The Weak Shall Inherit the Gym”, Rick Reilly, believes that “Dodgeball is one of the few times in life when you get to let out your aggressions, no questions asked (Reilly 2)”. In other words, this game is a unique and rare way to let out your daily emotions with a simple activity of throwing a ball at others. The effect of this game is only positive. You can throw balls at other people, relieve yourself of stress, and not injure them since the ball is made of a very soft material. There are in fact, much worse ways to release stress. One example is a school shooting. People who hold the opinion of banning dodgeball in order to keep everything safe and fair are being hypocrites since the frustrations which cannot be let out anymore can still be let out in ways that are significantly more detrimental to the school and it’s
Injuries are common in most sports that have a contact component attached. Whether it’s at a professional level, or a school level, injuries are always bound to occur in contact sport. This analysis will look into the role headgear could, should and would play, and debates whether it should be made mandatory. Olympic sports such as Ice Hockey, Bicycle Riding and Baseball are just some examples that currently require athletes to wear a form of headgear. However, Australian contact sports such as AFL and Rugby give the option for players to wear headgear for protection. In 2011, 14 year old Ben Robinson was hospitalised after being treated 3 times in a game for head blows in a rugby game . In 1994, professional boxer Bradley Stone died from head injuries whilst boxing against Richie Wenton . Examples like these show the brutality of contact sports. Because of this, my paper will look at the issue of headgear in contact sport and will particularly look at this issue at junior sports level.
In conclusion I think dodgeball is appropriate for school because it prepares you for life lessons by learning to “get back up”. Some kids look forward to it because it’s the ultimate test of agility and reflexes. On top of that, some schools go way too far with it by banning tag and gymnastics. Once again, I think dodgeball is appropriate for
It should be noted that there are many different ways that are employed to get a marker to shoot a paintball out of the marker. Nearly every brand of marker has a different firing system. All have several things in common. They all have some sort of tank with compressed air or C02 or Nitrogen. Then they usually have sort of bolt and hammer system which is cocked back and held in place by a sear which compresses a spring. When the trigger is pulled it releases the sear. The restoring force of the spring pushes the bolt and the hammer forward starting the paintball moving then the C02 is released propelling the ball outward.
Baseball is a unique sport in many different ways. It is the only major competitive sport that has no time limit. The success of a player is determined on how well he can play as an individual and how well the team plays along with him. There are many rules that determine the success of a player’s performance. A baseball game is played with two teams and each team is permitted 25 players per team; however this is only true for professional teams. There are three parts to baseball: offense, pitching, and defense.
According to the book, World Religions Today, by John L. Esposito, Darrell J. Fasching, and Todd Lewis, under the section entitled The Sacred, it states that religion “expresses our sense of being “tied and bound” by relations of obligation to whatever powers we believe govern our destiny-whether these powers be natural or supernatural, personal or impersonal, one or many” (9). Furthermore, the book World Religions Today, by John L. Esposito, Darrell J. Fasching, and Todd Lewis, states that the religions of various people over the years or centuries have proven to be essentially as diverse as the types or forms of power that people essentially believe govern human destiny. In which these types or forms of power “ have ranged from gods as forces of nature to the unseen ancestral spirits or spirits associated with sacred places, to more impersonal sacred forces or energies; or finally the mysterious power(s) that govern history (including the seemingly secular powers associated with wealth and politics that get treated as if “sacred”) (9). Therefore, according to this logic religion then can be anything that creates a following that people can be tied and bound to, which can include how religion can be seen as something such as power, money, or even fame. Thus it can be argued that under these conditions of what a religion can consist of, it would be safe to say that a major professional sport such as baseball can also have the sufficient requirements or conditions needed for it to be considered as a religion as well. Therefore it can be argued that baseball in and of itself is a religion due to the fact that just like other types of religions baseball creates a following that people can be tied and bounded to. Baseball also, just ...
Whether you are an avid spectator of football, hockey, basketball, or NASCAR, you have witnessed a fair amount of violence. In the 2013-2014 football season, at least five different college football players broke their leg, and hundreds of other players at the high school, college, and even professional level have injured a plethora of other body parts in a variety of methods. Hockey is considered one of the most violent sports in the world—the players have violent tendencies and generally release their anger on their opponents—and, unsurprisingly to its audience, results in many injuries. While basketball is not considered particularly violent, audiences are thrilled when they witness almost any sort of injury. Last year, University of Louisville guard Kevin Ware’s compound fracture broke through his skin, exposing his broken bone to everyone around him. Several people took videos of the incident and less than a year later, the video has nearly tw...
Baseball is a game of skill that is played with a hard ball and a bat between two teams of nine players each at a time on the playing field at once. Although many different people play Baseball all over the world it is most popular in the United States. It is so popular in fact, it is referred to as the national pastime of the United States because of the tradition and popularity associated with the game. Baseball consists of many complicated rules. It also has a very elaborate history. One can not fully understand the game America has grown to love until learning about not only the rules but also the history.
A good football team combines strength and speed. Physical contact, especially involving blocking and tackling, is a basic part of football. The game also requires quick reaction and thorough preparation for each game. In addition split second teamwork is necessary in order to have a winning team like the San Francisco 49ers(my favorite team) one of the best team in the (NFL). There are several variation of football one of the two I know is flag football the other is touch football both of those variations eliminate the need for physical violence flag football and touch football are mainly used for elementary and high school programs such as intramural
Football is said to have originated from the Han Dynasty in China, from around two or three B.C. Although there is no specific creator of Football, there is evidence that the Chinese ‘dribbled’ balls made of various different animal skins filled with light-weight materials. After dribbling the ball, they were to kick the ball into a small net. Along with being a leisure activity for the ancient Chinese, evidence has been found that they also used it for training their vast army, the only difference in the training was the height of the nets. The balls were to be kicked into a net that was thirty feet or higher off the ground in order to make the Chinese army ready to move and also to make them stronger in the legs. Since the Chinese played ‘Football’ there have been many advancements in the game around the world and the rules have also changed greatly.
Football is a relatively dangerous sport. In the game, the whole body is open to taking shots from opposing teams every play, but the most dangerous area to be hit is the head. Hits that lead to players having their heads
Playing paintball is a fun hobby. It is a great game for relinquishing stress and tension. The downside to paintball is that it is quite violent. Everyone should play paintball once in their life to fill the adrenaline rush and competitiveness of the game. Its like no other you will ever experience.
