Task 1: My Own Fitness Past and Future

I participated in tennis during my first 3 years of high school as an afterschool activity .This was three days a week for two hour after school usually from 3pm to 5pm although we were usually on the court from 2pm warming up. Tennis was an endurance sport as we did more fitness than people would think we had to be fast and persevere through a lot especially when your arm would get sore or you would begin to get tired. During school I participated in the compulsory P.E lessons which were generally for 45minutes, once a week. Examples of cardiovascular exercises are skipping or jump rope, stair climbing which most people do on a daily basis, butt kicks, jumping jacks and burpees. There are also cardiovascular activities that people don’t realise they are doing such as walking,running,cycling and swimming even if it is being done for fun or just to get to different points during the day.
Without cardiovascular fitness in your fitness programme you will not have the energy or the muscle ability to do any exercise therefore this aspect is very important to me since the heart is one of the most important organs in your body and it can actually effect your personal health so vastly that it is the difference between life or death. This fitness increases the amount of oxygenated blood in your system which will help to increase the energy and strength in your muscles. Diabetics who stay fit and active regularly are able to better control their diabetes and keep their blood glucose level in the correct range. Since the blood glucose levels are maintained, the risk of nerve pain and kidney disease is lower. Muscles are able to use glucose without insulin so even people who are insulin resistant or don’t get enough insulin are able encouraged to exercise as the muscles still get the glucose they need and in turn the persons glucose levels will go down. When exercising your glucose actually works more effectively because insulin resistance goes down during exercise and the cells can use the glucose more effectively. Exercise can help people with type 2 diabetes who exercise can avoid long term complications such as heart problems. People with diabetes are more likely to develop blocked arteries which can lead to a heart attack. Exercise helps the heart stay strong and healthy; it also helps to maintain good cholesterol. Aerobic exercises such as swimming are recommended.as the patient gets used to aerobic daily activity it is recommended that the patient move on to strength exercises such as pull ups due to the fact that muscles use glucose so with strength exercises comes better control blood glucose
