Gaining an understanding of the differences between a Ph.D. and an Applied Doctorate helped me to realize that at this point I was working toward the correct degree. During the second week we prepared a time management workbook. This was an outstanding way to prepare students mentally for present and future time challenges. During the third week of the Foundations of Doctoral Study in Business class, the focus was on academic integrity and APA format and style. I enjoyed taking the Northcentral Academic tutorial and questionnai... ... middle of paper ... ...motes student mobility; allowing them to take clips from webpages and create a searchable database from those clips.

My first college attempt, 1997-2002, was unsuccessful due largely to distraction caused by my father’s illness. The second phase started in 2009 with a new major, Consumer Economics, which better suited my interests.

I went into college with the idea that I needed to teach children overseas how to read and so for my first year of school I was unmovably focused on achieving that end; however, within a year’s time I would change my tune and set myself on a slightly different course. I tested out of both the required freshman English courses, so my freshman year I decided to dip my fingers into as many different pots within the Humanities as I could, which is how I ended up taking Existential Literature. I was utterly enraptured by the teaching methodologies Dr. Bringle utilized, she was engaging,
Soon you'll have to decide just how much education you wish to pursue, at which point this alphabet soup of degree choices will take on new meaning. Advanced degrees, beyond the plain vanilla bachelor's you earn after a typical four-year college stay, are proving more valuable these days in a challenging job market. After realizing the importance of empirical tools in economic research, I enrolled in the prestigious and challenging General Course program at the London School of Economics (LSE) where I took proof-based advanced Econometrics and Mathematical Statistics.
