In Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell it talks about “success” and how some people have the opportunity to be successful. The way I would define success is to reach the goals you strive for in life, the way you reach your goals is if you are willing to try to succeed. I personally think that if you want to be successful you first need to figure out what the most important thing to you is. The first most important people in my life are my family, secondly going to college and becoming a nurse is what I need to accomplish to be successful. I can count on my family, has always been there to support my success, I am glad that I have such an amazing family that support me every step of the way.
Being successful for me means not only do I need to reach my goals to be successful, but I need to improve on what I am weak at the most. I learned many things from my mother, she taught me how to cook delicious food, how to take care of my younger siblings and how to be a good daughter. My parents had the opportunity to come to the U.S and start a family of eleven children. Back in Russia they weren’t from wealthy families, my mother had her first son in Russia and she chose to come to the U.S to give her son a better life. My aunt was the first one to come here, she was the one who told my mother how amazing it was here, how there were jobs that pay a lot and homes for a big family to live in. This was probably the best thing that happened to my parents, my father got a great job, mother on the other hand was a stay home mom. I am so glad that my parents like it here, after living here for ten years.
