Heading: Boost Your Home's Value with These 3 Outdoor Improvements
How do you measure the value of your home? Is it through its selling price or appraisal value? That's one good point to start, but your home's value goes beyond its monetary worth. The quality of your living experience matters too – and this is by far one of the most important. So how do ensure you get both? Consider home improvements. The following are a few outdoor projects you can do to increase your house's appraisal value and living quality.
Outdoor Bathroom
So many indoor rooms are now found outside too, and one of those is the bathroom.
Imagine soaking in a bathtub surrounded by flowers and plants, the blue sky as your ceiling, morning sunshine gently streaming through, and gentle breeze blowing softly. Outdoor bathing offers you a unique feeling of peace and relaxation. It allows you to unwind and, at the same time, appreciate nature's bounty – something you can experien...
You hear the hype about how great sunrooms are. You see sunrooms in your friend or family's house, and you stayed there a while. Just because a sunroom is in other people's homes don't mean it is right for your home. Five questions answer everything you wonder about sunrooms.
Rain rot is a severe skin infection in horses, but it is actually a normal inhabitant of the skin on horses. So why does this disease seem to be so serious? Although it lives naturally in the horses skin, rain rot can get very serious if it gets persistently damaged or wet. This can cause an infection to occur. Rain rot is also called rain scald or dermatophilosis. It is caused by dermatophilus congolensis. Dermatophilus congolensis is a gram-positive bacterium and is the etiologic agent of rain rot. It lives within the skin until the skin is disturbed some how. “The bacteria live in the outer layer of the skin and cause from pinpoint to large, crusty scabs.” (Mendell, 2014, January 29.) It can happen when there is high humidity, wetness for a log period of time, high temperature, or even attacks by biting insects. An increase in the number of biting insects can occur if there is high humidity or warm temperatures so it is best to have a cooling spot for the horses. The biting insects are how this disease can spread from horse to horse. Although there is a natural immunity, some horses are more susceptible to it and can get it year after year. Their must be an infected carrier, or even a fomite like a saddle or a blanket that has the organism in the form of a spore. The spores then have to come in contact with the susceptible animal. Once these spores attach, you can start to see the disease take over the horses body.
It is very important to have all of the necessary bathing supplies in the bathroom before you bring th...
The concept of public bathing first arose in ancient Greece and later spread to Rome. The earliest Roman baths date back as far as the 4th century BC, and contained little more than a “row of hip-baths.” Originally mixed bathing between men and women was common, however Emperor Hadrian passed a law forbidding it in the second century. As a result, bath complexes had different hours for men and women or “built additional facilities so that both sexes could be accommodated at the same time.” Over time, advances in technology allowed Romans to “improve size and efficiency [of bath houses] and eventually to build the great double-circulation baths (thermae) which combined hot and cold bathing facilities, swimming pools, running tracks, sports grounds, and libraries […].” Bath complexes became so large that they could...
Based on the information provided in chapter 7 and the information provided in the case, I would say that the owner of AAA Landscaping did not do a good job with handling the situation with Stu Murphy. In the case, it states that Stu had heard about AAA Landscaping through word of mouth advertising from some of his neighbors in his subdivision. He decided to hire AAA to landscape his yard and it was a $1200 service. The landscapers came out and redid the sod in the front yard and trimmed up bushes in Mr. Murphy's yard. The week after AAA did Stu's yard, they received a call from Stu and he let them know that there was unfinished work. Because AAA was tied up in other jobs the owner was not able to send anyone out until later on in the week. The next day Stu called again because the job was still not finished and the owner did not get around to calling Stu back. This went on for another week and finally the owner sent out someone to
The front porch of my house was dirty, covered with red mud and the pain was chipping off the floor. So I decided to give it a face lift. This process involved washing and removing the furniture. Scrubbing the chipped paint of the floor. Giving the front porch floor a coat of paint.
The Interior Plains is a region in west-central Canada, in the Mountain and Central time zones. It is the fourth largest region of Canada. Majority of the Interior Plains is prairie land with lots of flatlands. The total area of this region is 1, 900, 000 km². Approximately nineteen percent of Canada’s population lives in the Interior Plains region. This region includes certain points of interests and attractions such as city areas like downtown Calgary and natural sightseeing areas like the Rocky Mountains. The majority of the Interior Plains is prairie land, with many trees and grass. Most of this area is wide, open spaces and flat land. Some of the animals living here include deer, wolves, and
On September 9th, 2017 at approximately 7 p.m., I went to Gracedale Public Park to carefully conduct my observation on the individuals, who were at the park and their specific activities in the one hour of time. When I got there, the weather was beautiful with soft winds, a clear sky and with some dim sunlight. The park was full of people of all ages. Though, there were more kids than adults and some teenagers. There were many bicycles and strollers parked beside the tree I sat under. After a couple of minutes, the park filled up with more and more individuals and everyone seemed busy doing their own actions.
Environmental psychology is the study of the interface between human behavior and the physical environment (Burrougus, 1989). The term ‘environmental psychology’ was first introduced by William Ittleson on Conference of the American Hospital Association in New York (Cassidy, 1997). For a time it was variously called as psychological ecology, architectural psychology, and ecological psychology because of its integrative nature. One of the definitions proposed defines environmental psychology as the study of ‘interrelationship between individuals and are complementary between the environment and the person’ (Gifford, 1987). In conclusion, environmental psychology is about how we interact with the world we live in, and
There are several types of hobbies; some for those who enjoy being indoors and some for those who love to be outside. Maybe you thrive on competition or enjoy the comfort of observing, regardless of how a person likes to spend their free time - no doubt there is something for everyone. However, gardening offers the most rewards and benefits to yourself as well as others. Regardless of age, gardening is an excellent way to reduce stress, boost your mood, increase exercise and improve the environment.
When the term seasons come to mind, most people think of the four major weather seasons; summer, fall, winter, and spring. But, within these four, there are far more interesting seasons to notice and associate with that specific time of year. For example, the first part of the year tends to yield many blushing brides vowing to a lifelong commitment and friendship with their groom and therefore is considered wedding season. Similar seasons are wound throughout the year such as football season, engagement season, and swimsuit season, but the most wonderful time of the year is by far the holiday season. For many reasons, the holiday season, the time ranging from Thanksgiving to New Years, brings a feeling of togetherness and joy that simply is
Home gardens offer a wide variety of benefits to the environment and serve a diverse group of people. Home gardening provides a source of fresh produce and free of chemicals, it also gives you complete control over the chemicals and products used during the growing process. A home garden allows you to pick the produce when its ripe, unlike produce at the store is often picked before its fully ripe. The quality and flavor of the freshly picked produce from home is better than the produce that might have unknown chemicals and was likely picked several days or weeks before being sold. The produce retains more nutrients when consumed shortly after being picked, making your home garden vegetables a healthier option. A garden also provides a positive environmental impact. The compost allows you to recycle certain kitchen and yard waste into a nutrient-rich additive for the garden. This provides natural fertilizer for you plants and reduces the wastes you produce. If you choose to avoid or limit chemical use, you reduce pollution from your gardening activities. Besides being good for the environment gardens have environmental gains for us. Gardening help control urban temperatures, If the environmental landscape design is effective it can cool your home in summer and warm it in winter, it can also reduce the energy cost by up to 20%. Gardening, and all the physical activity that goes along with it, leads to a better overall physical health, weight loss, improve you bones, and reduces the risk of having osteoporosis. “In a study of 3,310 older women, researchers from the University of Arkansas found that women involved in yard work and other types of gardening exercises had lower rates of osteoporosis than joggers, swimmers, and women wh...
As a conclusion, both Romans like to spend time at bathhouses to socialize and to have fun, whereas the Japanese are fond of bathing due to the effects of religions and also due to the medicinal values of bathing. Both cultures enjoy relaxing in baths and also realize the healing power of bathing; however, the two cultures are still different in many ways such as the time bathers spend bathing and the openness of bathing. I personally have experienced bathing in Japan and in no doubt it was a joyful experience. If any chance, I would love to experience a Roman bath. Living in a fast-pace society, we could hardly stop working and relax in a bathtub. Learning how Romans and Japanese cherish their time spent in the baths makes me realize the importance of having a healthy life and most importantly, the importance of giving time for ourselves to start relaxing.
Many individuals believe that the neighborhood defines who they are, shapes them as a person and has an impact on their life. Throughout my childhood I would hear the saying “It takes a village to raise a child.” Society feels a child has the best ability to become a healthy adult if the entire community takes an active role in contributing to the rearing of the child. I do agree based on the neighborhood environment a child is raised; it does have an impact on their life. For example, society classifies each neighborhood differently such as low-income neighborhood, middle-income neighborhood and high-income neighborhood. According to Bureau of Justice Statistics(BJS2008-2012), persons in poor households at or below the Federal Poverty Level
The natural conservancy is an organization that is out to conserve the lands and waters on which life depends on. In this paper, I will argue that the natural conservancy organization mission statement captures the true essence of environmentalism. The mission statement of the Nature Conservancy represents the true essence of environmentalism since it recognizes the intrinsic value of all living beings while prioritizing the importance of protecting nature for future generations.
