Is our world too close to a world that is seen as it being so bad by other people that ban it? It is a world where reading a book, owning a book, or questioning the laws is banned. A world where media is something that takes over your life. This is the world in Ray Bradbury’s novel Fahrenheit 451, where we see a firefighter whose job is to start fires, fires where they burn books. Books that were banned because it would cause people to think different, offend others, and keep them from questioning the world they are in.

Our world to today is like the world in this book, by seeing that we both live in a society that is largely media focus, wanting everything to done right away with no patience, demanding it now at the very moment.In Fahrenheit 451 books are illegal, and the people are encourage to spend all of their time watching TV, and only caring about what is happening on their favorite TV shows. They don’t think about what is happening out in the real world. Our society is a lot like this because we become obsessed with the latest trend, having the newest piece of technology. wanting to know everything about this celebrity, and the drama happening on shows they watch on TV. It is amazing how alike these worlds are them obsessed with on is playing in their parlor and we are attached to our Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram account. The people of Fahrenheit 451 would mostly obsessed with these social media accounts also. This all matters because this is showing us the truth behind our world. It shows the good thing we have and the things that are not so great about our world. This means we have to work on bettering our society not letting others determine how we act.

The world of Fahrenheit 451 written by Ray Bradbury shows us that we are like that world in the sense that we want everything right at that moment we are obsessed with technology and letting take over our time. But we are find books to be important and not something that should be illegal and harmful to us. Seeing this it makes us wonder if we are turning into the world found in Fahrenheit 451 or are we getting better getting away from that world.
