Others Murdered During the Holocaust
Many people only think of the Jews when asked who Hitler murdered during the Holocaust. However, no one thinks of the other 5 million people who suffered just as much. Jewishvirtuallibrary.org says "...the non-Jewish were made prisoners inside their own country. No one was allowed out. The Germans took over the ranches, farms, and Polish factories. Most healthy citizen were forced into slave labor. Young Polish men were drafted into the German army. Blond haired children were "Germanized" and trained from an early age to be Nazi supporters"("The Holocaust"). Hitler not only killed Jews, but Jehovah's Witnesses, Roma gypsies, people that resisted, priests and pastors, homosexuals, disabled people, and the list goes on and on.
From 1933 to 1939, 10,000 Jehovah's Witnesses were imprisoned in concentration camps and 2,000-5,000 were persecuted. Hitler's plan was to get rid of Jesus Christ as a religious ideology. Jehovah's Witnesses were a special group that even the Nazi leaders formed respect for them. They were given opportunities to renounce their faith, and they would be left to be untouched. The majority of them, however, refused to give in and deny their faith. They were the only ones that if sent to a concentration camp could get out just for signing a paper to renounce their faith. Hitler persecuted Jehovah's Witnesses, because they refused Hitler his power. They didn't give in to Hitler's torture. Jehovah Witnesses refused to raise their arms in the "Hail, Hitler" salute, didn't vote in elections, and didn't join the army or the German Labor Fronts. ... they only brought down Germany nationally, and he saw them as a racial enemy. Hitler even killed innocent children that were mixed race. He said they're an insult to Germany, so they must be gotten rid of along with all the people who disagreed with Hitler and resisted him, and defended the Jews and non-Jews. In total Hitler killed around 5 million non-Jewish people in the expanse of 6 years.
