Dinosaur Dinosaurs: Extinct or Natural Causes As geologic time goes, all the dinosaurs living on earth suddenly disappeared. How did these dominated and gigantic creatures really die? Was it a slow extinction through natural causes, or did it happen suddenly? These questions give rise to many different beliefs on how the dinosaurs disappeared over sixty-five million years ago. Something happened sixty-five million years ago, at the end of the Cretaceous period that was so devastating that it altered the course of life on earth.
Creationism: Six Literal Twenty Four Hour Days Creationism is the view that states the universe, including Adam and Eve, were created in six literal, twenty-four hour days and is the view that agrees with Scripture. The Hebrew word for day is yom, and when analyzing the context of Scripture, it can be concluded six literal, twenty-four hour days of creation of the earth. The Bible makes this argument clear in describing a day as “evening and morning” (Genesis 1:5-2:3). Pastor Mark Driscoll, in his article, “Answers to Common Questions about Creation,” gives support to this view, quoting Exodus 20:8-11 many times in the article. Scripture is clear that God made everything in six literal, twenty-four hour days and rested on the seventh.
This research will discuss the parallels revealed throughout scripture between Adam and Christ, and the effect they have had on humanity. Scripture quotations were taken from the New American Standard Bible, unless otherwise noted. Origin of both Adams and Their Relationship with the Father The Bible tells us that Adam became a “living soul” (1 Cor. 15:45), meaning he did not exist in eternity past; hence, he did not have an existence prior to God creating him out of dust. Nevertheless, it must have been a privilege for Adam to know that he was the first man ever created in the image of God (Gen. 1:27).
Noah did so and took aboard his family and pairs of every kind of animal. It rained for forty days and nights, until the highest mountains were covered. Then God sent a wind and the waters receded, and the... ... middle of paper ... ...tioned. What caused the tidal wave is still a mystery, although many people believe it was caused by volcanic eruption, or a large meteorite crashing into the Earth’s surface. The other theory is of universal flooding.
Christians believe the Bible, the story of creation, and that God created the world in seven literal days. However, evolutionists continue to believe that there is evidence that the universe and the earth took billions of years to form. They also believe that life on Earth has come about by the process of evolution, as proposed by Charles Darwin. Scientists are studying different processes and trying to reconstruct the past, but no one can scientifically prove or agree on any one view of history: creation or evolution, old earth or young earth, uniformity, or Noah’s flood. The best one can do is to identify one’s view of history, interpret the evidence within that, and see which view gives the best explanation.
Creationism is taking the literal meaning of the Bible. The theory of creationism is accepted all throughout the world by many different religions. Creationism is based off of Genesis, which is the first book of the Bible. Genesis 1 describes the physical event of creation. Genesis 2 describes the creation of human beings and other little details.
The Bible states that the earth is only a few thousand years, but for evolution to be possible, the earth would have to be several millions of years old if not more. The Bible also suggests that all species were put on the earth at the same time and in the same form that they are in today, including humans, rather that the common ancestry and speciation that evolution supports(Silverstein 10). But whether they choose Creationism or Darwinism, it is difficult for one to deny the facts and proofs that are put forth by the theory of evolution, and every day another step is made towards finding the true origin of species.
The average person usually does not question 2,000 years of beliefs, but that is what Buffon did: 100 years before Darwin. Buffon, in his encyclopedia called Historie Naturelle, he describes everything known in the natural world, strained the similarities between humans and apes and even talked about common ancestry. Although Buffon believed in organic change, he did not provide a reasonable mechanism for such changes. He thought the environment acted directly on organisms through what he called "organic particles". Buffon also published Les Epoques de la Nature(1788) where he suggests that the planet is much older than the 6,000 years the church had previously said (berkeley.edu./history/buffon).
The appearance of biblical allusions in One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez has been noted by numerous critics. These allusions are not merely additional literary devices, but rather form much of the structure of the novel. Renowned critic Harold Bloom has even called the book “the Bible of Macondo” (Bloom 1), an apt characterization considering that the novel, throughout its course, contains sections that closely parallel the Book of Genesis. - going to add more to this When Macondo was first settled, Marquez described the world as being “so recent that many things lacked names” (Marquez 1). Likewise, when the Lord created living creatures in Genesis, he brought them to Adam to be named, “and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof” (Genesis 2:19 KJV).
Theories of the Extinctions of the Dionsaurs: Dinosaurs became extincted 65 million years ago, at the end of the Cretaceous period, something so devastating that it altered the course of life on earth. It seems like it happened so sudden, as geologic time goes, that almost all the dinosaurs living on earth disappeared. So how did these dominant creatures just die off? Was it a slow extinction, or did it happen all of the sudden? These questions bring rise to many different beliefs on how the dinosaur disappeared over 65 million years ago.
