Organizational Behavior Terminology and Concept When small business owners start the concept of what type of business one would like to own, an array of critical thinking starts and a business owner has to consider questions that will make or break his or her success. Owners, who pay attention to the current rise and fall of stock for his or her chosen business, will have the upper hand against competitors. An owner who knows his or her competitors is a small part in the grand scheme of owning an organization. Owners who give attention to the needs and wants of employees and customers will have a higher rate of profit and a lower rate of employee turnover. Organizations that learns and knows the ends and outs of maintaining a business keeps the upper hand against competitors. Knowing terminology enhances an owner’s ability to flourish with the organization. Shermerhorn, Hunt, and Osborn (2008) stated, “Organizational culture is a system of shared actions, values, and beliefs that develops within organizations and guides the behavior of its members” (Chapter 16, p. 2). Certain aspects, for example, the flow of communication within an organization can tell whether the organizational culture is strong or weak. Organizational behavior is another important terminology that gives an owner a clear understanding of customers and employees. Organizational behavior is the impact that individuals, groups, and structure have on behavior within organizations (Robbins & Judge, 2009). The way that an employee thinks about his or her job abilities or functions can either have a positive or negative impact on an employee’s job performance. Communication and diversity can help an organization who has a multitude of different people to learn and communicate with each other as well as customers. Business ethics and change management have important roles together. Business ethics is the everyday morals that up hold an organization and allows change management, which allows the facility to have an easier transaction to a new process. The organizational behavior of a medical facility has to have stability strive and become an organization that can give excellent service. Organizational cultural is the values, beliefs, and actions that can be shared by the company, and this can be a motto or a code of conduct that all employees treat and uphold themselves with an outstanding amount of integrate.
