It Is Possible to Become a Productive Adult If One had an Abusive Childhood Some people think it is impossible for someone to become productive if they had an abusive or neglected childhood. There are many people that recovered from an abusive childhood. One person that you will read about later on in my essay is, Oprah Winfrey. She used to be sexually abused when in her childhood. Look at her now, she is one of the highest paid women. Not only that, she is an African American woman. People believed women were not capable of being better than a man and/or working harder than a man. Especially African American women, we were the lowest of the lows. Oprah proved many people wrong. I disagree with anyone who says “You can’t be productive if you have been neglected, mistreated, and/or abused in your childhood years.” I feel as if people say things like that, just to make …show more content…

I know right, I couldn’t believe what I read. The reason I wanted to mention a guy who got sexually abused, is to let people know that girls aren’t the only people that can be sexually abused or raped. “I always thought I would die before I grew up.” Tyler Perry was abused so bad, he thought he wasn’t going to be able to see another year. He was sexually molested by both men and women. Tyler Perry was also emotionally, verbally, physically, and sexually abused by his father, grandmother, and a friends mother until the age 19. (16 famous survivors of Child Abuse.) Now he is an actor and a movie producer. Tyler is also a multi-billionaire, which once again goes to show that you can be very productive even if you had an abusive childhood.
