Opinion on Abortion
Abortion is when a foetus is expelled from its mother's womb before
the pregnancy reaches full term (usually 40 weeks). The abortion act
says that a woman can have an abortion if the pregnancy would put her
in danger, or if the baby was so handicapped that it could not survive
independently and it would have no quality of life. The act also says
that these reasons for abortion are accepted whereas a woman who
simply did not want another child would not be allowed to abort her
pregnancy.
Many Christians oppose abortion. Two reasons that they give for this
are because they believe that life begins at conception and so to
abort an embryo would be considered as murder. They have a fair point
because many abortions have been conducted in a seemingly barbaric
manner. The foetus's that have developed slightly more have been
removed from the womb limb by limb and then put in a metal dish and
left for what could be weeks. They are not buried but used for medical
research or just thrown carelessly away. The second reason they might
use is that abortion is "playing God". If God wanted a woman to have a
child, he would plant an embryo in the womb and that would grow into a
child. To murder that embryo would be going against God's will. They
use the Bible's principle of the sanctity of life to support their
views. When they say this they mean they believe that there is
something special and holy about life. For Christians, the human life
is especially special be we mysteriously share something of the nature
of God. The book of Genesis states that:
"So God created man in his own image, in the image of
God he create...

a rapist's child and then tell it that the only reason it was born was
that I had been raped. If I had the child and did not tell it, its
whole life would be a lie, and I could not cope with that. I
understand that it is not the child's fault and that it is ruthless to
kill it, but I could not see it grow up without thinking for a moment
about that rapist. I believe that life begins when the foetus begins
to show human features and can begin to survive by itself, because
when it is an embryo, it could be any other animal, be it a whale or a
cheetah. I do believe that people have souls but I also believe that
every other animal has a soul too. I believe that it develops the
souls when its heart begins to beat. So I don't enjoy abortion, but I
do think it should be taken seriously and for all the right reasons.
The journal article “Acorns and Embryos” give us a few basic points of whether or not embryos are actual human beings. One analogy George and Lee argue in their article is of the argument Michael Sandel has made by stating how “every oak tree was once and acorn, it does not follow that acorns are oak trees, or that I should treat the loss of an acorn eaten by a squirrel in my front as the same kind of loss as the death of an oak tree felled by a storm…” Sandel maintains that, by analogy, embryos are different in kind from human beings. But this argument cannot survive scrutiny. George and Lee also makes great points in relations to embryos being human individuals at an early stage of their development, just as adolescents, toddlers, infants, and fetuses.
Whether or not abortion is morally right or wrong, the fact remains that a woman
foetus or an embryo, an infant or an adult, an old person, or one suffering from an incurable
That’s proof of life that’s something to be amazing and realized that this small little fetus is alive and soon to be the next generation to this world. I feel like if a pregnancy was unplanned and the parents aren 't ready for a child they should give it up for adoption. Also if it was a traumatic event as a female getting rape, I can 't say I understand why they would want to end this baby life but I could imagine the feeling of carrying the child of a monster who raped you, as I see it the child didn’t do it to you he/she didn’t asked that man to do those things to you. That baby is an innocent unborn child who wants to be born into the world and if you can 't stand looking or rising that child for the rest of your life since how you got pregnant in the first place someone else would love to be that child 's parent no matter where they came from or who their parents
Pro-life believers do not support the idea of an abortion, but what after being raped? The decision on whether to keep the baby after such a horrific matter varies women around us. While some women believe it is best to keep the baby, supporting the idea that the baby is part of them, others do not want to be constantly reminded of the rape with a baby that can possibly have the exact image as their rapist. According to Muhammad ibn Adam al-Kawthar, “… it would be immensely difficult for a woman to be comfortable with a child born out of such a traumatic experience” (51). Not a single person should be forced to have a baby they did not decide to have. The individual did not choose to be raped. Some pro-life supporters may suggest adoption, but what if it wasn’t that easy? A pro-life defender does not take in consideration the age of the victim. When thinking about a victim of rape, the first idea that comes to each of our minds is a young woman in high school or out of school, b...
Rape is among the more horrific violations of human dignity imaginable. It is a crime committed by the male, not the female—and certainly not by the child it might produce. When rape results in pregnancy, the baby has the same right to life as any child born by mutually loving parents. Only the Nazis would execute a child for the crimes of his or her father.
Abortion, defined as the intentional termination of a pregnancy, is one of the most highly debated liberties of all time. Approximately one to three million abortions are performed each year. Women receive abortions for reasons such as rape, teen pregnancy, and health concerns. Unfortunately, it is a liberty that some still wish to eradicate due to religious beliefs and misconceptions. Abortion should remain a legal option for women because illegal abortions result in far more fatalities, religion does not serve as grounds for a law, and most importantly, there is no conclusive evidence that a fetus is equal to a human being.
In the article “All Abortions Must Be Illegal” the president of the American Life Judie Brown and the director of public Relations for American Life League says “All choices should not be legal or protected, and abortion is one that should not be legal. Allowing abortion in cases of rape or incest punishes the innocent child more than the guilty rapist”. The question is “Who should make the choice to kill preborn babies?” the answer is “Nobody”. Therefore, most women "choice" abortion precisely because they believe they have no other choice.” Abortion has change in our society today now because the women have the right to choose to abort or having the baby. Abortion is a medical or surgical procedure that ends a pregnancy.
Some women have accepted the definition that a woman’s prime role as wife and mother is to have control of one’s own body and mind (Reardon 3) .Once they had choices about life roles, they felt that they had the right to choose abortion or not. Any and every woman should have the ability to choose when to have a child in their lives. Many women feel that if they did not have the right to choose an abortion, they would have passed by many opportunities to create a better life for themselves. Some people might not agree with their decisions, but in the ends it is theirs.
Victor never even fathomed the actual existence of the creature, somewhat resembling an unplanned pregnancy that was never emotionally and rationally dealt with even after the actual birth of the child. He certainly did not adequately prepare himself for parenthood.
In a pluralistic culture of unwanted pregnancy, there exists a contradiction between a relative sense of morality and the democratic ideal of free choice. Aristotle provided the first written record of this irresolvable contradiction in his book Politics, saying, "When couples have children in excess, let abortion be procured before sense and life have begun; what may or may not be lawfully done in these cases depends on the question of life and sensation." (1) The controversy has always consisted of two sides: "Pro-Lifers", who believe that abortion is morally wrong and should not be allowed, and "Pro-Choicers", who support the woman's right to choose the outcome of her pregnancy in all cases. There is also a large group of people who fall somewhere in between, believing that abortion should only be allowed under certain circumstances. To this day, abortion continues to be a topic of dispute, with each side offering many of the same arguments that have been offered for several millennia. Those concerned with the issue saw this played out most recently in the presidential election, a very close race in which abortion was a key factor in many citizens' votes.
In my Opinion, abortion violates a person’s right to life. No one have right to play with another life. If a woman chooses to have sex, she is doing in her own
...evil. To treat pregnancy as a disease that can be “cured” with methods of contraception and abortion is morally wrong. All people are specially made in the image and likeness of God from the moment of conception. The arguments defending pro-choice all describe how there are certain circumstances when an abortion must occur. However, unless the mother’s life is absolutely threatened, abortion is a sin that ends the life of a child of God.
Abortion is an extremely controversial issue and one that is continually on the forefront of debates. Those who oppose the idea (Pro-lifers), thinks it is an act of woman playing “God” who live from who dies. Yet, whether an unborn baby constitutes a normal person is questionable; a pregnant woman, on the other hand, has the undeniable right to choose whether she wants to have a child or not. Therefore, the decision to have an abortion is the personal choice and responsibility of the woman, because prohibiting abortion impedes freedom of choice and endangers the physical and mental health of women.
