“One Dream, One Band, One Direction” “I never would mistreat you, oh I’m not a criminal, I speak a different language but I still hear you call. Diana, let me be the one to light a fire inside those eyes, you’ve been lonely, you don’t even know me, but I can feel you crying. Diana, let me be the one to lift your heart up and save your life, I don’t think you’d even realize baby you’d be saving mine” (“Diana”- One Direction, A-Z Lyrics). The song “Diana,” that One Direction wrote is quite strong. Diana stands for a girl, more specifically their fans. There are many girls that struggle with themselves, and also with their social life. “I never would mistreat you”; this part of the lyrics are very self- explanatory. One Direction are letting girls know that they we would never mistreat them. “Oh I’m not a criminal, I speak a different language but I still hear you call,” the band is letting girls know that they are not “criminals” or bullies. They hear their call even if they speak different languages. “Diana, let me be the one to light a fire inside those eyes, you’ve been lonely, you don’t even know me, but I can feel you crying.” Here, One Direction is asking their fans for permission to give them hope to keep them alive and safe. The band is also letting the girls know that they know that they have been lonely, and even if the girls don’t know them in person they can feel them crying. “Diana, let me be the one to lift your heart up and save your life, I don’t think you’d even realize baby you’d be saving mine.” With these powerful lyrics the band is asking the girls to let them lift their heart and make them feel better. [To let them save their lives.]They also mention to the girls that they do not even know that they themselves... ... middle of paper ... ...eo's & more Pop Scoop! – Pop News | Interviews | Celebrity Gossip | Photos | Videos." Debra Rathwell is the Senior VP for AEG Live. Rathwell oversees the active New York office of AEG along with being a force in national touring. Rathwell has more than 30 years of experience in the industry and her dedication inspires me. I know she is well respected in the industry and I think it is impressive that she books on average 800 shows every year. Being a woman in the music industry is a big challenge, but Rathwell proves to me and the world that being hard working will help prove yourself. The first step that really started Rathwell’s career was during her last year at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario. Rathwell was Harvey Glatt’s assistant and went on to work as Bass Clef Entertainment, which partnered on shows with Canada’s concert leaders. This introduced Rathwell to the industry and the rest was like a snowball effect, one job led to another. Another step Rathwell took in her career was pivotal was joining Donald Tarlton for 12 years at DKD. With DKD, Rathwell managed a staff ...
Trina’s intent was to create a song that liberated women from the double standards and stereotypical views placed upon them. Her song however can cause harm to young women that listen to take this song to heart. Instead of liberation, we are moved further down into the hole of degrading and devaluing women. Trina should’ve sent the message that these things were wrong. Instead she endorsed and encouraged them.

Domestic violence, the connotation of the two words immediately invokes images in everyone's mind. Two songs will be discussed in this paper, these songs relate directly to the issue. The first song is “A Child Called ‘it’” by Buckcherry, released in 2008 on the Black Butterfly album. The second song is “Im ok” by Christina Aguilera, released in 2002 on the Stripped album. Buckcherry’s song, is based on a true story of a child that was abused by his mother. Similarly, Christina Aguilera’s song talks about her women who is being abused, you can tell this from the beginning of the song when she sings, “my father's fist would put her in her place.” Both of these songs directly talk about domestic violence and

In the song she shoot him because she is sick of his stuff like him with the beating her and taking avenge “He’s drunk again, it’s time to fight same old s***, just on a different night she grabs the gun, she’s had enough Tonight she’ll find out how f***in’ tough is this man pulls the trigger fast as she can, never again “ This is a quote that make sense because he was beating her and she had no power to hit him back because she not as strong as him in any way shape or form. As this girl is going through this it show us how life really is because violence goes on every day because the world is a place no one want to be in. If you look at violence statists it clearly shows you how violence in pacts us. “Fathers a name yet haven’t earned yet you’re just a child with a temper Haven’t you heard don’t hit a woman kicking’ you’re a** would be a pleasure” this is a good one because some people like me take this to heart because if you hit a woman in front of me boy I tell you want and theirs many other people who think the same way. Most people were born and raised not to hit a woman because a lot of people are like this doesn’t mean there not people like (the man who hit her) out there and this what cause violence even more in the world this take it to the highest
The reason why I say this is because when Rachel Lloyd says this she is saying the only person she feels safe with is the person who is the source of her fears. She is saying that the only person that can wipe her tears is the man who is her pimp. It’s sad because these girls are so young when they get caught up in the world of child trafficking think that someone hitting them or selling them to older man is a way of showing love and it’s not that case at all. These young girls have been giving the wrong idea about it means to feel safe.
Therefore, it shows that Lorde has to stand up for herself in order to go to the dining car. The essay reflects on when Lorde and her family visit a store, they were told to leave the store which made them feel excluded from the crowd. The author writes, “My mother and father believed that they could best protect their children from the realities of race in America and the fact of the American racism by never giving them name, much less discussing their nature. We were told we must never trust white people, but why was never explained, nor the nature of their ill will” (Lorde, 240). The quote explains that Lorde’s parents thought they can protect their child in United States from the racism, however, they had to go through it and face racism in their daily life. This shows that her parents were aware of racism, which they might have to stand up for their rights, but they did not take the stand for themselves as well as their child. Therefore, her parents guided them to stay away from white people. This tells readers that Lorde has to fight for the independence that she deserves along with going against her
The chorus lines, saying ‘And if I could offer a kindly reminder / It’s not okay to grab women by the vagina’ refers to the offensive comments that Trump made about women during a recording for a television show in 2005. On a leaked tape, he said: ‘Grab them by the pussy. You can do anything.’ The use of the word ‘vagina’ instead of ‘pussy’ - like Trump did - emphasises the vulgarity of Trump’s
But I bet you can’t tell me what it smells like in the Sistine Chapel. You’ve never actually stood there and looked up at that beautiful ceiling; seen that. If I ask you about women, you’d probably give me a syllabus about your personal favorites. You may have even been laid a few times. But you can’t tell me what it feels like to wake up next to a woman and feel truly happy. You’re a tough kid. And I’d ask you about war, you’d probably throw Shakespeare at me, right, “Once more into the breach dear friends.” But you’ve never been near one. You’ve never held your best friend’s head in your lap, watch him gasp his last breath looking to you for help. I’d ask you about love, you’d probably quote me a sonnet. But you’ve never looked at a woman and been totally vulnerable. Known someone that could level you with her eyes, feeling like God put an angel on Earth just for you. Who could rescue you from the depths of hell. And you wouldn’t know what it’s like to be her angel, to have that love for her, be there forever, through cancer. And you wouldn’t know about sleeping sitting up in the hospital room for two months, holding her hand, because the doctors could see in your eyes that the terms “visiting hours” don’t apply to
Celebrities, especially musicians, have a substantial impact on the lives of their audiences. Artists use lyrics as a way to speak about meaningful topics or events, and these words can also serve as a source of identification between the singer and listener. Focusing specifically on the relationship between the artists Taylor Swift and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter and their typically female followers, an obvious difference can be found between their respective attitudes towards the role of women.
Today, Twenty One Pilots is one of the worldwide famous American musical groups that adheres to the alternative hip-hop and rock genres. It was formed in 2009 by three college friends: Tyler Joseph, Chris Salih, and Nick Thomas. After they realized their debut album “Twenty One Pilots”, they gave a concert in their hometown- Columbus and then started touring through the Ohio state. But, after two years of existence, the group was about to fall apart, because Salih and Thomas left it. However, the lead vocalist, Tyler Joseph, was joined by Josh Dun, who was a drummer and formed the duo with keeping the name Twenty One Pilots. The second album “Regional at Best” made them well known throughout the United States. Famous American TV and radio shows started to invite them and taking the interviews.
...over and jot down her thoughts. If these were the thoughts running through my head that were making my whole being ill - I too would need to write them down and get them out of my head. Her harsh images ands racial digs in this piece do prompt an individual to stop and think, even get angry. Lorde probably meant to point out this problem in its ugly light so to help avoid such tragic loses from happening again. To ensure that not everyone will just step aside when it is their turn to protect and serve our youth of today. Audre Lorde truly appears to be a "warrior' and she certainly has "made her meaning known" as her name, so appropriately means and her poetry so appropriately reflects to its audience.
According to many sources Justin Timberlake “Supports 29 charities and 25 causes” (“Justin Timberlake: Charity Work”). These humanitarian efforts show that Justin Timberlake really likes to give back to the world. These donations help people see the goods things he has done and the positive feelings he gives off. “The Justin Timberlake Foundation was established by Nsync sing sensation Justin Timberlake to share his love for music” (“Justin Timberlake Foundation”).
