“When you don’t manage your life well, you become angry and frustated as things dont go inteded, and our bad mood is a sign showing we were not able to resolve the conflict” (Bucay). One of the hardest things in life is to control yourself from your bad habits. Everyone has a flaw but the only thing that matters is how you deal with it. Tthe play Oedipus the King clearly demonstrates on if you do not control your doings, things will happen even if you wish they had not. People have control of their entire life until they do before they think.
The main character Oedipus was left to die by his family. He was found and raised by another family. Oedipus gets told his future by a prophet and he did not like what he was told. At the place where the three highways come together. At the three highways Oedipus loses his temper. Another way to control your life is to control your bad flaws. Many people have the trouble of getting angry very easily. In this case that happens to Oedipus, “ He pined away, so I caused his death” (1004). You must control your anger and your many flaws before you can control your entire life. Just this little incident made Oedipus to act on his natural anger and killed the king, his father.
Oedipus has no self control over himself. He ran away from his prophecy thinking now he is bigger than it. But his anger and his no self control brings him to fullfill his prophecy that was given to him.”The famous prince for whom a great have the same both as a father and son sufficed for generation” (1394). Oedipus finds out that he has married his own mother and his now his brothers father.
