Observational Report: The student common behavior in Lecture
This is a qualitative research using naturalistic observational study to examine the human behavior in the lecture class. The type of the paradigm is the social constructivism. The central research question is designed “What is the student common behavior in a two hours lecture class?” Observer believed this central research question is appropriate used to identify the pattern of student behavior in lecture class. This is an exploratory observation study which aim to figure out the social pattern of human behavior within a lecture setting in University. Phenomenally examine the social pattern of student behavior in lecture class.
Observational research is a simple with best fit in identifying pattern of human behavior in certain setting. Besides, observational research benefits over observer a lots in studying human behavior such as participant non-verbal, movement, posture, interaction style when connect with others and some specific behaviors. It allows observer does not need to connect with the participant especially it has skipped the permission of participant process unless that setting has restricted the observation rules. All the people being observed were remained uninformed condition in order to prevent participant acts unusually which Hawthorne effect will be occurred. It also prevents the artificial constraints in the research. Every each of the information the observer has collected was the fact, true and natural of the participant’s behavior. Another observational research benefits is it cost time consuming but it does not need to pay money to complete.

On the other hand, student who didn’t think of lecture feeling by showing the complaining, boring, sleeping and dreaming behavior openly in the lecture classroom can be explained by the concept of explicit attitude. Allport (1935) indicated that explicit attitude is an individual express his or her own feeling openly which can be read by others through facial expression, certain express behavior and movement towards like or dislike object.
Furthermore, student will behave to choose to maintain certain gaps in seat with strangers except sit with friends. This can be interpreted by the belief of human needs own privacy even in public and also to be deemed as needs certain gap between with stranger in order to ensure safety the awareness of unknown people threat.
