How is fast food causing an increase in obesity in the United Sates?
Obesity can be caused by a combination of fast food and the environment people live in today. Fast food contains foods that are high in fats, sugars, and starches. These ingredients have rarely any nutritional value to the human body. Most of the foods available at fast food restaurants like McDonalds, Burger King, and KFC contain concentrated salt and preservatives to enhance the flavor in them. Obesity has become the defining aspect of our nation by surrounding the people with fast food products. The freedom to choose what one wants, gives the fast food companies the right to give one unhealthy food. The consumption of fast food products regularly greatly increases one’s chance of having health disparities such as Coronary heart disease, type 2 diabetes, cancers, stroke, Hypertension, and Osteoarthritis. These negative effects are present with the daily eating of fast foods.
What were two themes discussed in the documentary Super Size Me?
In the documentary film Super Size Me directed by Morgan Spurlock, there were many themes discussed about on the topic obesity. Two themes were obesity increasing and children being targeted as they are an easy topic. The frequent photos and interviews of obese adults and children suggest that America definitely has an obesity problem. In the film Super Size Me (2004) states,

America has now become the fattest nation in the world…. Nearly 100 million Americans are now overweight or obese. That's more than 60% of all U.S. adults. Since 1980, the total number of overweight Americans has doubled, with twice as many overweight children, and three times as many overweight adolescents.

The money used on fast food will go toward organic food at the market My behavior contract has to do with eating healthier so I have changed my eating habits already. The film helps me stay on my goal to complete my behavior change contract for good.
Conclusion
After watching Super Size Me, the themes were major not only to me but to society. It was a message for the people to stop eating outside food and realize the effects taking place. Also that fast food companies are targeting young kids. Parents need to watch what their kids are watching and also eating. The film has helped me with my diet by helping me stay on my goal to complete my behavior change contract. I don’t want the negative effects to be happening to my body so I will not eat outside food.
