Tales of Suspense The sun was shining, and the every park was filled with playing children and conversing parents. Birds were chirping, and the sky was cloud-free. It was a perfect day. What the civilians didn't know was that ten miles away, darkness was looming. The only thing that would taint the day was what was happening just a few miles away. A thousand years. It’s been a thousand years. I have waited a millennium for this moment. The day has come. The Daily Rundown was showing, but no one in the entire world expected it to be this eventful. The Perkins were washing the dishes after dinner when the news had spread to them. "For the first time in 1,000 years, we are living in the world with a murderer amidst." A low quality …show more content…
Since the first homocide of the mysterious man, days had been shorter and the nights longer. Oakley always had summery days, and now, just like the past humans, they experienced “fall” and “winter. It had been about an hour since he had arrived, and he was fidgety and alert. Every time he held up his hands in front of his face, his fingers would tremble fiercely. ”Barry?” Violet's voice rang out. The secret walkie talkie the team had designed for him helped calm the man's nerves. He had volunteered to be the bait for the serial killer, after weeks of researching and attempting to find a way to end this monster. "Barry, it's alright," she continued on. "Remember our designs? We have cameras attached to your contact lenses that allow us to see what you are seeing and the S.W.A.T teams are out there, too. You’re safe, Barry. It’s okay…” Barry smiled meekly, wondering how much truth was really in her voice. The only thing left to do on his checklist was to wait. “Barry?” The girl’s tone had turned from soothing to alarmed. “There’s a problem with the transmissions!” “Violet? Violet? I’m right here, I’m okay. Violet? Don’t worry, Violet.” The team waited anxiously for an answer back at headquarters, but their technology stayed …show more content…
Suddenly, time had sped up, and the pigment became more detailed. The thing was closing in its distance between him, and every step stacked anvils on top of Barry’s heart. “Barry,” the grave voice called out. “W-who are you? How do you know my name?” Barry’s head felt as if it were to burst. There was nobody to help him now. “I’ve been watching your foolish team try to stop me. Why try? You’re only humans.” “What are you?” He breathed out, weakly. The monstrous soul chuckled the same chuckle he laughed out= after he killed. “You’re the only one to ask me.” Barry widened his eyes, for it was the first time he had seen the man—monster so close. “I know your friends will be on the way. When they reach here, they will see the pain you’re in when I cut open you and take your soul. After that, you won’t feel anything because you’re dead and your family will be very depressed. This makes this world shatter and let me hear the wonderful cries and violence.” explained the unknown figure. “What did I say, here comes your team. If you make a move you know who I will target first.” “Welcome, my name is Oliver, and you’ll witness how your plan back fires when I eradicate you bait.” said
" Okay " I say trying to seem calm as I look at this weird fog like stuff around him. " Listen, now you are not going to die " he says and takes the armor and puts it back on the shelf. " Do you see it " he asks looking at me.
Humans understood that something unusual was happening. No one thought that nightfall had truly come. But the brute creation, the various farm animals, and their wild cousins, behaved as though the day, but so shortly before begun, had come already to its premature close. Cows returned for their evening milking, chickens sought their roosts, and dogs, sensitive to the concern and fright that their masters so obviously felt, cowered at the doorsteps of houses, seeking whatever comfort their terrified owners could give them. The birds of the air vacated the skies and sought their nests; frogs began their evening serenade, as all nature welcomed the end of a day that only to human minds had not really
“Can I kill him? Can this be the end? No, it’s not going to work.”
The small bands of Night Raiders trudged through the streets, setting fire to homes, apprehending any young warriors, and horrifying children. Children cowered in their mother's arms along the streets. Warriors and undercover Rebels quickly equipped themselves for battle. Screams of terror echoed off the trees throughout the woods. Smoke filled the air, creating a smokey outlook.
It was a gloomy Saturday morning with thick fog covering the city like a blanket. Jack was gazing out of the window waiting for this strange fog to disappear. He made his bed, making sure everything looked perfect, the way he was taught in the marines and went downstairs to make a cup of coffee and take care of his mother, father and younger brother, but something else was on his mind besides taking care of them. He really was getting worried about what had been going on lately, on tv they kept on rerunning president West’s latest speech about North Korea and their uprising on every single channel. All of a sudden like someone grab the fog and threw it to a different city it lifted in a blink of an eye and what Jack saw in the street surprised
Edward suddenly peeked his head around the corner. His face was filled with worry; his eyes were wet with tears.
“You don’t know me.” My voice sounded as unsteady as his stance. He shrugged as he chuckled; the laughter turned my blood cold. He seemed to know something I did not.
He cowered behind a tree and covered his eye. “Chill, Legend Greene’s grandson. The boy who wrestles with goblins.”
...d soul out. The deep, loud rumbling from behind him made him run faster and harder. Before he even arrived at the lake, he laid his gleaming eyes on the first vessel to arrive. His body overflowed with elation, he looked back for a split second and could see the huge dark shadow of enemies behind him. Gazing back in front he could see almost 5 000 men ready to help him, as he looked back and forth there were more and more allies standing determined to battle each time.
“She is so pissed.” Petra snorted. “Locked herself in the bedroom to hunt for this super hacker. You know she has this whole I’m-better-than-thou thing going, right?”
He turned around so that he could see what was awaiting him… he saw a man figure again, but this time he was a lot closer than ever before, the man he saw much closer wasn’t moving at all, he was just standing there, as if stalking until he had the chance to go in for the kill.
It was a dark, cold, cloudy day. The clouds covered the sky like a big black sheet, nothing to be seen except darkness that seemed to go on forever. This was the third day in a row that there had been complete darkness, there was no getting rid of it. This was because of ‘the meteorite.’
"Nonsense, if you remember, this won’t be the first murdered person I've seen. I assume that's why all these cops are here."
The sunset was not spectacular that day. The vivid ruby and tangerine streaks that so often caressed the blue brow of the sky were sleeping, hidden behind the heavy mists. There are some days when the sunlight seems to dance, to weave and frolic with tongues of fire between the blades of grass. Not on that day. That evening, the yellow light was sickly. It diffused softly through the gray curtains with a shrouded light that just failed to illuminate. High up in the treetops, the leaves swayed, but on the ground, the grass was silent, limp and unmoving. The sun set and the earth waited.
