Nursing questions can be tricky to answer. Luckily, there are various methods used to help students answer questions. Some of the question methods are Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, ABC’s (Airway, Breathing, and Circulation), least invasive to most invasive, and “which patient will die first.” However, given all of the tips the questions are difficult to answer and require critical thinking. Unlike other black or white questions, nursing questions focus on the best answer amongst the four. After taking the NCLEX self-analysis quiz there were two questions that were incorrect and various complicated questions that required more time to ponder on the answer choices. Question one and twenty were similar in the type of remediation that was necessary in order to stop the conflict from occurring. The theme that the student noticed with the question was the nurse’s role of stopping the person from becoming upset, before solving the problem. She learned by answering these questions that remediation is the priority in this situation. Being able to calm the situation before addressing the problem and solving the bigger issue.
