There comes a time when the hands that supported you when you stumbled, shiver. The ones who taught you right from wrong depend on you to make the correct choice for them, a choice that can alter their entire being. One bad judgment call and your loved ones could end up as being victims of nursing home abuse. Thus, when you’re deciding a health-care facility for them, don’t settle for anything but the best because many lose their loved ones every year as a result of the abuse. There are precisely 16,100 nursing homes in US occupied by 1.5 million people. Out of these, 44 percent of nursing home residents have suffered abuse and up to 100,000 are reported every year. All sorts of nursing home abuse – mental, sexual, financial and emotional are considered illegal and punishable under law. Still, for every 1 abuse reported, 12 are not. Ideally, the victims get scared of the torture and believe the intensity would increase if they tell anyone and 20 percent of the abuse go unnoticed.
