NURS 501 Health Policy/Ethics
When I was enroll in the course Nursing 501 health policy and ethics, I learned many materials in this class such as different policy and ethics. The health policy and ethics that I learned is the HIPA policy and code of ethics in nursing. In the HIPA policy, the HIPA law gives patients the right to be informed if any information to be disclosed with written permission. If a staff gives any information without the patient permission, then the staff has violate the patient’s rights. The only reason why a patient should disclosed any information about the patient: if a patient has submitted a written consent such as release of information to discussed their information with the third party; if the staff has suspected abuse or neglect about the patient, or if the patient display suicidal or homicidal thoughts to the staff.
The code of ethics discussed in nursing that nurses will respects the human rights and dignity with every patient, the nurses will provide all needed services to the patient and respect all human needs, values, and religious beliefs with all patient. In this course, I learn how to prevent diseases and the importance of health care. In this course, I had to write a grant to the government to provide more services on preventing diseases and having a healthy life. In my grant I propose to government, it discussed many ways I will prevent diseases. I will prevent diseases by providing pamphlets on ways to prevent diseases to the community before the disease occur and having a free healthcare seminar on diseases to the community. If a individual already was diagnosed with the disease, then I will provide more information on the disease and ways to help cure the disease if
