Towards the end of World War II, in Hiroshima, Japan, thousands died. The “Enola Gay dropped a 9,000 lb TNT bomb called “Little Boy.” Approximately 78,150 people died after one death count, but radiation was still lethal. Three days later, another bomb was dropped. “Fat Man,” dropped by “Bock’s Car,” was a Uranium-235 bomb, even though it did less damage than Hiroshima, the seaport of Nagasaki still was torn to pieces. Overall, there were approximately 23,753 lives taken by “Fat Man.” The Nuclear bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki did not help America because it started the Cold War, killed many innocent Japanese people, and caused other countries to feel that we are more ruthless than the Japanese themselves.

The bombing of Hiroshima was on August 6, 1945; at 8:15 a.m. Nagasaki was bombarded on August 9, at 11:02 a.m., 1945. Although the nuclear power has evolved and become greater since World War II, the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were the only nuclear bombs ever to be dropped. There have been test bombings in uncharted areas by the U.S. and possibly Russia or Afghanistan, but none as attacks against other countries. The co-pilots of “Bock’s Car” were named Captain Frederick C. Bock and Charles Albury. The co-pilots of the “Enola Gay” were Paul Tibbets and Robert Lewis. There were many others in the crew of each plane with positions such as: commander, co-pilot, navigator, bombardier, electronic countermeasures, radar and radio operators, flight engineer, assistant flight engineer, tail gunner, weaponeer, and the third pilot.

The Cold War (1945-1991) was a race between Soviet Russia and America to see which had the most nuclear power, no nuclear weapons were actually used in this war but people learned to be ready....

The bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki at the end of WWII caused a bad impact on America because it caused countries to think that America is more ruthless than the Japanese at war, it sparked the Cold War, and many innocent Japanese mothers and children died. Studying the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the Cold War show that the Soviet Union was very evil and communist but America could be thought of as just as bad to other countries. Once the USSR started to show signs of nuclear power, the United States intervened right then while all the other countries sat back and watched as America made the mistake of dropping two nuclear bombs on many innocent people. Except for causing an immediate end to World War II, the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were a mistake for Americans and history in general, negatively impacting America overall.
