I’ve been meaning to bring this up for some time and we can’t seem to find the time for that during the day, so I’m going to put it in writing. I will preface this by writing that I am very happy at Catty and I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to work here over the past 10 years. I have not regretted my decision to come here for a minute. So first off, Thank You! You have always been great to me and have treated me with the utmost kindness. I appreciate that very much and my concerns are in no way operational. Having written that, lately I have been questioning my relative value within the organization and respectfully, I hope you won't mind if I request that an evaluation be done of my role and its importance in relation to those of others in the Act 93 group. I could be wrong about this, but I have noticed what seems to be a …show more content…
It seems as though it would be very difficult for any of us to truly understand the intricacies of the jobs of others, so I try not to assume anything, but I feel that what I do is equally valid and essential and my level of accountability is at least equal to that of the others. I have always believed this to be true, but even if I was wrong in that belief, I think that school boards would now , more than ever, be best served by reevaluating the importance they assign to the role of Foodservice Director. If one does not see the value in having a good FSD, they have possibly not worked with a bad one. There are admittedly a lot of bad ones in K12 and I feel that hurts school districts and those in my profession alike, which is why I’m asking to be judged as an individual and on the quantifiable results I have helped to bring to CASD over the past
Ms. Hall shared several insights to the superintendence and advice for those aspiring to be one. One insight that she revealed was the importance of really knowing the district. She spoke about the importance of truly understanding the district's heritage, how people relate to it, and what they expect from it currently. This allows her to really prepare for the deep changes that she planning. Her greatest piece of advice was that a superintendent must be willing to build relationships with all stakeholders. She feels that a superintendent must be an instructional leader and a politician of sorts in order to be truly effective.
The stimulation we had to do for class focused on a piece of land in Cleveland OH that once belonged to a nuclear factory. This land consisted of 4 acres in the north-central section of Ward 12, and adjacent to ward 3. The allotment is positioned closely to many low-income segments of the South Broadway neighborhood. The goal was to come up with an idea on what should replace the decommissioned factory and create the biggest benefit for the community.
Dodger was being sent off to Australia, he got caught for stealing. Fagin freaked out, he was thinking that Dodger would rat them out and it would be over for them. Soon after Fagin got the news, Monks showed up… He wanted Charley out of the room. He was about to tell him what Nancy did. Bill flipped out, thinking that she turned against him. He went to go find Nancy. On the way to find her, everyone got out of his way; nobody wanted his attention. He asked everyone if they have seen her and they all said “no.” Then, Bill found Nancy… Seconds later there was a loud scream. Everyone ran to see what happened and saw Nancy’s lifeless body with Bill running away. People chased after Bill, he went to Fagin’s place asking for money to get away.
From 2011 and onward, my family had fallen into bankruptcy for paying out of pocket for my older brother’s medical expenses and surgery costs due to his diagnosis of heart failure. In 2013, when I took the standardized ACT exam two times, I scored both times an 18 which was below my university’s 2014 entering freshmen class’s composite score average of 24.5 (copy of score report is attached). Furthermore, upon taking the LSAT two times with over four months of self-studying for the September exam, I scored first a 141, and a 140 on my last attempt. When taking both examinations, I have not been able to afford tutoring pertaining to the exams or a preparation course. Although I have worked numerous jobs during the past few years in college,
In design of user interface, input controls are an essential element of any type and permits clients to execute different functions to make sure that input data is accurate, protected and complete. The role of school boards “is to establish a vision for the community's schools that reflects a consensus of the board, community and district staff.” Although this is their main purpose, they also have to balance a district budget, create a district-yearly calendar, negotiate contract, construction, and approve district curriculum. (Stover 1) Although it might seem harsh to argue with school boards even though they do a lot, it is their job. They were appointed to lead and better the community, guide our children. If they are not mentally ready to be a leader, then why run for a school board member, the focus should be on the children, how to better education for them, and how to make sure they get the most out of every day coming to school.
Numeracy is a mathematical skill that is needed to be a confident teacher. This unit of study has allowed students to build their knowledge in the mathematical areas of competency and disposition towards numeracy in mathematics. The six areas of mathematics under the Australian Curriculum that were the focus of this unit were; algebra, number, geometry, measurements, statistics and probability. Covering these components of the curriculum made it evident where more study and knowledge was needed to build confidence in all areas of mathematics. Studying this unit also challenges students to think about how we use numeracy in our everyday lives. Without the knowledge if numeracy, it can make it very challenging to work out may problems that can arise in our day to day activities. The knowledge of numeracy in mathematics I have has strengthened during the duration of this unit. This has been evident in the mathematics support I do with year 9 students at school, as I now have a confident and clear understanding of algebra, number, geometry, measurements, statistics and probability.
According to standard two of the Professional Standards for Educational Leaders (2015), educational leaders should act with integrity, fairness, and in an ethical manner to promote the success of every student. In the scenario, a new assistant superintendent in a school district is head of curriculum and instruction. The school district services 15 schools, 12 elementary schools and 3 junior high schools. The assistant superintendent has prior experience in a previous school district with curriculum and instruction, but seemed much happier in the new district’s atmosphere. The district seems to be more goal-oriented and focused on the upholding the vision and mission of the district. There is also a strong value on self-evaluation
As a leader candidate, I can understand the challenges and multiplicity of complications that administrators must face each day. However, I will not accept any remote possibility that the students must be affected by some flaws of the school organization. We all as leaders, must be strategic with people, time, and money to guide our students towards an academic success.
For my psychology interview assignment, I had the privilege of interviewing Elaine, who is the Director of Preschool X, which is an educational institution. She reports that she has been in this position for 13 years since its inception. Elaine is a close friend of my aunt, which was how I was able to meet her. She explained that her responsibilities include; the hiring of all personnel related to the school, submission of criminal background checks, the medical reports for all staff and children must be current, and also developed a curriculum for the teachers to execute. She has parent meetings and she deals with parents on a daily basis. For any arising issues, Elaine conferences with parents at least once or twice a week. Have weekly staff meetings regarding the curriculum. She also plays the role as the educational event coordinator, where she would “invite people from the dinosaur museum or alley pond park to come over to her preschool, to enrich the children”.
The main challenge that Rocky Road School District is currently facing is the several lawsuits from former parents and staff. As well as the lack of team work that is shown within the district. Having a meeting with all Principals in the Rocky Road district is a most. Negotiation of teacher’s contracts and the hiring of new qualified teachers which will help assist the testing scores for the district. Giving parents a sense of comfort that their children are being well educated is a key challenge. My main challenge will be getting all parties involved in the movement to “Strive for Excellence.” Our main concern is getting faculty, staff, student, parents and the community working together to make Rocky Road School District successful, it takes a team to fix such a messy situation.
The human body is everything that makes up, well, you. The basic parts of the human body are the head, neck, torso, arms, and legs. The following paragraphs are going to explain the functions of two different body systems.
Principals have a lot on their job descriptions. One of those tasks principals must do is evaluate teachers. Some principals are good at doing this, while others are not so great because they lack the experience or put it off towards the end of their ever-growing list of tasks they must complete. In order for principals to make this a priority, they must do trainings related to teacher evaluations. I think school district need to do a better job at training school leaders get the proper training and use teacher evaluations to benefit both the teachers and students.
In order to be an effective school, all school personnel must work together in a friendly, caring, polite, and respectful manner. There are a number of positions and employees in a school. “A school is a complex social system, and all the people in it contribute to making it run smoothly” (Kauchak & Eggen, 2014, p. 182). It’s important to acknowledge the contributions of all staff and faculty members. The principal, leader of the school is the ...
Just like what Uncle Ben told in the Spiderman movie “Great power comes great responsibility,” as a leader it is my responsibility to build a systems and make sure that those systems are working to ensure students achievement, a system that will help teachers grow professionally, a system that will help other colleagues function to their fullest potential and system that will bind the community and other partners to be one of the pillars of the school.
