Earth science is an area in science where I find pretty interesting. I know it includes things like the atmosphere and the Earth itself, as well as the relationship between the two and other planets. I also had a pretty good idea of how Venus could have been inhabited before it turned into a hot ball of fire rock. Venus’ orbit hadn’t always been as fast as Earth’s therefore making the days extremely long. The atmosphere of Venus was not as pleasing either. It had always been covered in most spots with thick clouds of sulfur or some type of chemical which blocked a large amount of sunlight to enter the atmosphere. Oppositely, Venus’ atmosphere seems to be made of some carbon dioxide, letting heat in but blocking it from entering, thus making it hotter than usual. Although I knew all these things, some still surprised me. Earth has always been that golden planet in our solar system as far as WE know it, but had Venus been as well? The answer to that is maybe, and it surprised me that scientists said it could have been like Earth if its rotation had stayed fast enough to support life. What really threw me in the air was the fact that scientists think that Venus may have once been like Earth. That was interesting. To …show more content…

For example, if scientists told people the Earth WILL definitely be a huge black cloud due to pollution in the next million years, then how would people react? They would stop. But if scientists are stalled on the topic, people will just keep doing what they have been for the past years. Earth science is key to keeping our world intact. Now, as far as Venus goes, people aren’t there, so no harm done, but knowing if it had or can have life is something that is important solely for the purpose of knowing and it may lead to some other things in the Earth that is unknown. And it’s kind of neat to know about a planet that I live
