Known for being one of the safest and cleanest neighborhoods in California is the city of Fremont and on the south side of the city, between Fremont city proper and Milpitas, stands the pride of Fremont- Northwestern Polytechnic University (NPU). Established in 1984 by Dr. Barbara Brown and Dr. Ramsey Carter, NPU is an institution that offers high-standard technical and business education at undergraduate and graduate levels. NPU is also a non-profit institution.

The school of Engineering offers degree programs on two major areas- Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Masters courses are also available on Electrical Engineering (MSEE) and Computer Science (MSCS).
The School of Business Administration and Information Technology offers a degree program, Bachelor of Business Administration and Information Sciences (BBAIS), and a graduate program, Masters of Business Administration (M.B.A).
NPU also offers various General Education courses such as English, Mathematics and Natural Sciences, and Humanities.
Student Life
NPU student life is dynamic and colorful. Aside from regular studies, students can member themselves in six or so student organizations for various extra-curricular activities. Fremont is a diverse community and so is NPU. Almost 50% of the students are foreigners of different origins, which makes it an ideal multi-cultural school.

Point Loma Nazarene University is a private, Christian Institute that offers high education while developing students on their spiritual journeys. The university has an established community living agreement in which all incoming students must accept and abide by while furthering their education. Students who attend PLNU are expected to reflect pure, Christian values, which are guided by the Holy Spirit.
The main component I look for in college is their commitment to further my studies. I feel this college will provide an ingenious culture within the science field, therefore rendering myself with the building blocks necessary to later pursue the medical field. Not only does UNCW devote itself towards their student’s undergraduate years, but also by providing Professional pathways such as Pre-Medicine, students such as myself can go into Professional schools better prepared. In addition to my interest in the academics the school has to offer, I also marvel at the amount of extracurricular activities available to the student body. Clark Atlanta University will teach me how to become a better listener, show commitment, and have a positive attitude. The particular undergraduate school I desire to be in is the school of nursing, which is the top school in the United States. Ever since I was a little girl, my motivation to pursue a career in the medical field was evident. While other children my age watched Cartoon Network, I found more value in shows like ‘Trauma: Life in the ER’ and ‘A Baby Story.’ It wasn’t until high school that I decided I would become a nurse, specifically. I cannot say that I had a revelation or a particular experience that swayed my decision. However, ever since I began pursuing the career of nursing, I discover each and every subsequent day that it is what I was put on this earth to do.

I wish to become a woman of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., because of the strong sisterhood this sorority displays. Through my mentors I’ve seen the true sisterhood that Zeta Phi Beta has. I come from family of all males so I feel that I’ve never had women to truly call my sisters. Having sister has always been a dream of mine. I also love the work in the community that this sorority does. Community service is very dear to my heart so the fact that this sorority does so much of that amazes me. I know that Zeta Phi Beta has made a difference in many people’s lives, and nothing would make me happier than to be a part of that.
