North Korea´s Government: Fear in Citizens

514 Words2 Pages

The citizens of North Korea do not stand a chance against it oppressive government; fear and uncertainty dictate the mindset of the country. The country of North Korea is in peril. The video talks about how mass rains have cause the caused the crops to fail, and forced many North Koreans to go hungry. The video describes how one family ate warm clay and tree bark for their evening meal, just to have something on their stomach. North Korea has closed boarders, and will not associate with the prospering South Korea. The oppression works against North Koreans because of propaganda, lies, closed societies, repression, and scapegoat. All five of those tie into one, LIES! From birth the North Koreans are brainwashed. They are told complete fabrications about South Korea and the United States. The North Korean government press in the heads of their young about the god like leader that they have, they blame the United States for their peril, their tourism is terrible, and if they speak out against the government, well there are camps for that. The North Korean government has the country believing that they are one of the strongest most prosperous out of the two (North and South).
North Korea stands apart from the rest of East Asia. They future I predict for North Korea is uncertain, they are on a road to disaster. East Asia is a well-populated booing area. The region’s economic growth is phenomenal; they are integrating technology, and making long term plans for the future. North Korea is the only exclusion. North Korea is poor, isolated, and appears to have little grasp in reality. North Koreas leadership is focused on dictatorship, and on tactical measures to make other countries believe they are superior. They video shows the poor conditions that every North Korean has to live in. They force their children to dance and do gymnastics, from my interoperation just in case a tourist comes. I anticipate a collapse in the North Korean government, and more severe economic downfall, and civil war to break out. I do not believe the old saying “history repeats itself”, what I do believe is we can learn from other countries mistakes. I think that North Korea should take a gander at Syria and take notes of the way protestor’s rebel against the central government.
America and South Korea have different stands on the way they should handle the issues arising in North Korea.
