In medical terms, Norco is taken as a combination of acetaminophen and hydrocodone. At times, it is regarded as a Narcotic because it resembles opium in addictive properties or in its physiological-based effects. The medication 'Norco' consists a greater proportion/ dose of Hydrocodone and the comparitively lower dose of acetaminophen.Norco is currently available in tablet,capsule and liquid form. Hydrocodone belongs to the category of drugs known as narcotic analgesics (pain relievers). It works on the central nervous system (CNS) to ease pain, and prevents or stops cough.It is advised to be used every 4-6 hours as per the biological requirements of the patient. Norco is available in the market under several other names as well.These primarily include Lorcet Plus, Lortab, Zamicet, Vicodin, Vicodin ES, Vicodin HP, Hycet, Lorcet, Maxidone and Zydone.
