The foundations that support my belief in my abilities are keeping a positive attitude, setting attainable goals, recognizing my strengths, and the ability to work on my weaknesses. My belief in my abilities is compromised when I am criticized. I overcome this by choosing who I listen to. I try to determine the motive behind the criticism. Constructive criticism would be from someone that would like to see me benefit from the information. Non constructive criticism would be from someone trying to hurt me. If I trust the person and care about their opinion, I will determine if I agree, if so, I will develop a solution. If I don’t trust the person or care about their opinion, I will smile at them and ignore them.
When someone asks “do you mind if I offer you some feedback?”, you immediately think that you did something terribly wrong. You don’t know whether to feel proud or to feel ashamed, or even feel like you’ve been attacked and need to defend yourself as much as possible. Difficulty with accepting criticism is nothing new; in fact, it is more common than you think. We are often criticized after completing anything from simple tasks to the most complex projects we can accomplish. Common examples of what we are criticized for are: work ethic, creative works such as music, television, articles, etc., and for any mistake, small or large, we make during our day-to-day lives. Anybody can give constructive

These beliefs may be positive or negative. As a teacher, I want to challenge any potential negative beliefs that they associate with themselves and their academic success. I will remind my students that a belief is a statement that is accepted to be true. Therefore, a negative belief can be rejected. I will build my students' self-esteem by demonstrating diverse examples, opportunities, and role models. I will constantly remind my students that they can be successful, as long as they can access the necessary resources and they put in the
My research philosophy is driven by informed inquiry to search for answers to questions that can enrich understanding and benefit society. I believe in integrating fundamentals from science with engineering principles in searching for practical answers. This theoretical and empirical approach guides my own research. My current research at Purdue University is focused on the handling issues faced by the corn ethanol industry and specifically on studying the caking behavior of corn distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS). I am using basic and applied research principles to investigate the conditions at which this granular bulk product cakes. Results from this study will be used to develop a quality control management system for DDGS during production and transportation. A model that I developed, to predict the moisture sorption of behavior from the DDGS chemical composition[ ], can be coupled with a near infra-red (NIR) instrument, that is commonly used by the corn ethanol industry for quantifying the chemical composition. My active involvement with a team of researchers who studied the effect of process variables during drying on the physical and chemical variability in DDGS at a commercial corn ethanol plant, gave me valuable insights on validating a hypothesis at an industrial scale.
I like to believe that I was born with a confidence many individuals pine for. As a child, I was never one to hide behind my mother’s dress. Independence often overrode my ability to accept help from others. Math problems can be completed without anyone else’s help and I know that I’ll figure out how to put this contraption together without the assistance of directions. This, “I can take care of myself” attitude enables me to be persistent in achieving various goals. For example, speaking in front of others, social events, and academics tend to be areas of strength for me. I have discovered many downsides to this attitude, however. Stubbornness and a fear of losing my pride are significant downfalls. I went to few study groups in high school and I had a difficult time coping with the fact that I was not always right. I am beginning to discover what it means to have confidence and independence in moderation. Confidence can be beneficial in the sense that it permits you to say what you mean and mean what you say without worrying too much about the judgment of others. Confidence and independence also allow me to present myself in a genuine manner in...
Constructive criticism has rewards but it does not come without challenges, both for the critic and the speaker. As a speaker, it is grueling to work hard on a speech and be met with criticisms. It can be a challenging task to separate the criticism from self-worth. As a critic, it may feel embarrassing to offer criticism or the critic may feel awkward since they themselves are not an

In discussing the research approach and philosophy one must consider the difference between method and methodology. Methodology refers to the approach utilized for the research and the method refers to the procedure used to carry out the research. Epistemology is the philosophical approach broadly adopted in this research as it amid to describe a phenomena within society or in an environment. Hence in in relation to this topic the phenomena is the trend towards sustainability among businesses in the UK. A relativist philosophy has been applied which provides the foundation for this research and can be best explained according to Mark Easterby-Smith et al, “Many truths exist and a single view can only result from a consensus of these multiple viewpoints,” (Mark Easterby-Smith et al : 2008). This philosophical framework has been selected because the aim of the research is to gain a greater understanding of the common consensus of opinions and attitudes held from luxury fashion customers about their views towards luxury fashion and sustainability. The researcher accepts that many opinions exists however those which comprise the majority are the viewpoints the researcher is primarily interested in.
The purpose of this report is to show the learnings of the groups research into four research methods. This group researched and discussed each method to gain a good understanding of each research method. In this individual report, the two research methods of action research and content analysis will be focused on and discussed. What follows will be a description of each form of research containing information sourced from references, text books, websites or scholarly articles and an explanation of how the method can be used in an information services setting. Articles will be evaluated for each of the research methods, thus giving a real world application of how these research methods can be used and outlining which research method will be best for which form of situation. The articles will also be critically analysed and commented on, particularly in light of the way the research methods were used in them. This report will not delve into the research or the articles of the other two methods, ethnography and case study research, these may be looked into in the other group member’s individual reports, though some of the conclusions and deductions on the research methods themselves were helped to evolve through the help of the other group members with the use of the erstwhile discussions.
Acceptance means to give consent, believe or come to recognize. It is important to realize that acceptance is a crucial part of criticism. How you choose to accept the criticism that you are being giving will determine how beneficial it will be to you and also your ability to work in the work place with that person .You need to have high self- esteem and feel positive about yourself and your abilities to be able to receive the criticism especially if it is negative. You should also keep in mind that you have full control of what you choose to believe about yourself. It is completely up to you to determine what is constructive or deconstructive for you.
Research is defined as an organized and planned approach for learning. It is a scientific technique to find solutions to the problems which are related and has significant effect on the society. As pointed out by Gerald Milburn, “Scientific research is a chaotic business, stumbling along amidst red herrings, errors and truly, creative insights. Great scientific breakthroughs are rarely the work of a single researchers plodding slowly by inexorably towards some final goal. The crucial idea behind the breakthrough may surface a number of times, in different places, only to sink again beneath the babble of an endless scientific discourse”.
Research philosophy, refers to the development of knowledge adopted by the researchers in their research (Saunders, Lewis and Thornhill, 2009). In other words, it is the theory that used to direct the researcher for conducting the procedure of research design, research strategy, questionnaire design and sampling (Malhotra, 2009). It is very important to have a clear understanding of the research philosophy so that we could examine the assumptions about the way we view the world, which are contained in the research philosophy we choose, knowing that whether they are appropriate or not (Saunders, Lewis and Thornhill, 2009). According to Saunders, Lewis and Thornhill (2009), three major ways of thinking about research philosophy are examined: ontology, epistemology and axiology. Each of them carries significant differences which will have an impact on the way we consider the research procedures. Ontology, “is concerned with nature of reality”, while epistemology “concerns what constitutes acceptable knowledge in a field of study and axiology “studies judgements about value” (Saunders, Lewis and Thornhill, 2009, p110, p112, p116). This study is intent on creating some “facts” from objective evaluations which are made by the subjects. Therefore, epistemology will be chosen for this study as the way of thinking about the research philosophy.
I 'm not a confident person ; I don 't believe I 've ever been one. Too often I find myself relying on others for reassurance. If left to my own devices, I would be indecisive out of fear of being wrong. I doubt my abilities and my skill one I 'm performing them. I feel talentless and doubt if the art I make is actually any good. I appear unbroken and unfragmented as to not seem depressing to others. Although it scares me for people to know, I think it 's important to be openly honest and raw. Vulnerability takes courage. Not everyone likes to open up it can be uncomfortable. However, being open about my insecurities can be can be self-clarifying.
Research methodology is a way to systematically solve the research problem. Research methodology constitutes of research methods, selection criterion of research methods, used in context of research study and explanation of using of a particular method or technique so that research results are capable of being evaluated either by researcher himself or by others. Why a research study has been undertaken, how the research problem has been formulated, why data have been collected and what particular technique of analyzing data has been used and a best of similar other question are usually answered when we talk of Research methodology concerning a research problem or study. The main aim of research is to find out the truth which is hidden and which has not been discovered as yet.
