In the Middle Ages, what were the Nobles main purpose to everyday Medieval life and how were they important to their kings ? The King was the one who gave the nobles their land and their titles to begin with. He did it because he needed the lords to protect his kingdom. Without them he’s vulnerable to invader's who might try to take away his land and power. In the Middle ages the Nobles became very wealthy people. They owned lands and served the King in many ways. In Medieval society they had a system which a person would obey or serve, to give and pay for taxes to someone higher than them. This system was called the Feudal system. Everyone who lived in the Middle Ages obeyed the system and was to follow them. In the system it was four different groups, There was the King who took leadership of his kingdom, the Nobles who served the king and gave him knights and horses to supply his army in exchange for land. The Nobles offered protection to the peasants in the middle ages who gave service to them in return. There were the Knights who fought in battles and offered protection to the kingdom, and there were workers also known as the Peasants. Although the King was the leader of the kingdom, in reality the Nobles had more power. Although the King was the leader of the kingdom in reality the Noble’s had more power, because the Nobles had to supply the King with an army and a lot of money. If it wasn’t for the Nobles the King wouldn’t have taxes/payments, Knights, and protection over his lands. The king would have had nothing, so in conclusion the Nobles had more power. It remains me on who had the most power in the U.S government, the President or there representers (Republicans, Democrats, and Congress). I believe that the Presidents representers had more power than the president because if any action a president makes to his country must be improved to their representers. If it was the other way around like the King had everything a noble had then he would no longer need the lords.
