Technology in the 21st century is everywhere these days. From computers to iPhone, iPad etc., the use of information through technology has become prevalent in everyone’s lives. For most, technology has taken over everyday lives thus influencing the way one sees the world from social media networks, to the where they gather their news. Due to increasing over-dependence on technology, many people struggle to think for themselves. The technological growth has taken charge of today’s youth. Malone, he speaks on how technology is bad for the youth. Malone points out how technology can have a negative impact on how the youth as it continues to evolve. Technology is a time-waster, which leads to procrastination. It causes loss of motivation which leads children to stay inside their homes. It is addictive, almost like a drug. Technology is second-hand knowledge and allows for over-exposure, which can lead to a child getting hurt. Also, technology can cause disturbed values. This article proves supportive of the claim previously made because technology hinders the youth form seeing the outside world. With technology children at a young age are exposed to the internet and they are able to get information without verifying the facts. Technology hinders the youth from having a personal interaction with others. They are focused on their phones and the latest gossip that they forget to make real life connections such as friendship.
