A healthy baby is born to elated, first time parents. They are overjoyed at the arrival of their beautiful and perfect child. Awaiting at home is a newly renovated nursery with everything both baby and parents could ask for. The days become weeks and the weeks become years as the infant becomes a toddler and then a young child. Developing a unique and wonderful personality. A smile that can light up a room, and a laugh that melts the hearts of any who hear it. And so the first day of school comes for the child, an exciting new experience, and an opportunity to meet new children. Suffering from these feelings has a negative impact on a person’s self-esteem. When we feel rejected because of beliefs or nationality, feelings of inadequacy become stronger and stronger forcing us to hide or change ourselves. Insecurity in what a person believes hampers building self-esteem. Negative stereotypes that encourage discrimination and segregation knock people down instead of build them up as human beings. With so many stereotypes and expectations in this world most people spend a considerable amount of time and energy either trying to live up to or avoiding these stereotypes. Imagine a world with no stereotypes, where no expectations were placed on people. A world where people were encouraged to be different, unique, to be themselves whoever or whatever that might be. A world where no one felt inadequate because they could not live up to the expectations of others. People would be happy and secure in their likes and dislikes, their values and beliefs. No one would be overly concerned with what others or society thought they should be doing or believing in. This world would be a different place, a better place. We could focus
