Nature versus Nurture Nature versus nurture refers to the debate of whether behaviors are learned behaviors from one’s environment or by their genetics. The nature component is that of genetics. Scientists and Christians have long debated how one learns behaviors and likes or dislikes. This debate is one of the oldest in history according to Eric Lee 1. Many scientists have completed studies to determine which characterizes come from nature or nurture. “Meyers states that, “There are few things that are not so strongly tied to genetics. Among those are “attitudes, values, manners, faith, and politics.”” 2. One point that most agree on is that both nature and nurture play roles in how a person develops.

Evolutionary psychology suggests that the brain adapt and changes function to develop traits such as language development, or memory as functional traits of natural selection. Where God developed the brain for all these function from the beginning. He desired humans to have companions and to converse with them and He is the one who give the wisdom that the brain is able to use. By looking at the brain and all the capabilities that God gave it to change and affect a person's wellbeing, attitude, actions and allow change to these as well, one can see the magnitude of God in life.
Knowledge in Preparation to Minister and Counsel
In counseling and ministering to others, if we can understand how the brain works, we can adjust appropriately counseling to different age groups, defects or disabilities. In human development there are many different milestones that are helpful to understand when counseling comes into
