There are many definitions of leadership. However, most leaders use their influence to change people towards the achievement of their goals. Thus, the most common definition of leadership according to Riggio (2013) is “the ability to direct a group towards the attainment of goals. He also correctly states that often times a leader usually holds a title of some kind but there are many example of informal leaders, such as parents, fellow students, teachers and so on: These people have leadership instincts; therefore leadership is not limited to only positions and titles in organizational places. It also means that there are certain qualities and values makes that person a leader. People like Alexander the Great, Winston Churchill, Julius Ceasar and many others would be considered to be naturally born leaders. The naturally born leaders view according to Blank (2001) leads people to the romantic idea of a need for a hero. This view leads individuals to the fantasy idea of a leader where they long for larger than life characters. Furthermore, they desire these types of leaders to be able to bear their burdens and fix things up for them because they have the natural leadership abilities in them. It however is a myth to think that leaders are born and not made. Leaders become leaders through hard work and efforts, which are what most people do to become leaders and achieve their goals and help others achieve their goals as well (Denehy, 2009). The exceptional definition according to the dictionary of charisma is “compelling attractiveness or charm that can inspire devotion in others. This means that the speaker paints pictures with words. These kinds of leaders do not have fear, they also are not afraid to present their ideas and thoughts and have excellent skills to persuade their followers. It is the charismatic leaders who have people that want to identify with them and trust them. A good example of a charismatic leader is Adolf Hitler. Just like many other leaders, Hitler worked his way up to becoming a great leader to the German people during World War two. Even though he did not have a positive influence on people or sympathize with people during his “reign,” Hitler, however, was successful on drawing crowds towards his ideas, and thus had many people who feared and respected him. The qualities that make Hitler a great example of a charismatic leader is that the fact that he was self- confident in his ability to turn his people towards the hatred for the Jews. He also had a vision to makes things either better or worse, in his case he made things worse for other nations. The important point is that he had a vision and fulfilled his plan. Furthermore, Hitler a great communication skills and the willingness to see the visions come true. It is qualities like these that gave Hitler a prominent place in history and be known as the Führer
