The implanting of electrodes in the pleasure centers of all newly born infants seem almost ideal, at first. I would not volunteer my future children or myself, but I can no say that l am against it. However, crying from a newborn baby is completely natural and it is the only indicator in determining if the baby needs food or is uncomfortable. Some parents do use cold medicine to soothe a crying baby to sleep, but creating a drug just to soothe a crying baby can later be used too often and lead to long-term effects. I personally do not take medication (I do not even go for my flu shot) simply because the business of prescription at times can be unethical and unnecessary. Time and time again our stories feature a twist where it turns out the image that the characters experience is either blatantly false, or has been distorted, that their perceptions turned out to be an imitation of something that was never real; whether it be the realization that the Matrix is a computer simulation, that Madeline from Vertigo never existed, or that Dorian Gray’s face masks his corrupt personality. In these stories the revelation of the false image provides the characters with a massive, life changing shock. Plato claimed that this shock, dragging someone from the dark of a false image, to the light of truth would be painful, but would leave them enlightened, however in The Picture of Dorian Gray those who idolized the image of Dorian Gray, the false imitation, will be devastated upon realization of the truth of how he acts.
Many marketing companies tend to overstretch the truth about the toys or things they are selling in order to get their sells higher and to make more profit. This typically happens if they are marketing toys that deal with enhancing child development. These companies don 't care about the side effects their product may have, as long as the parents are convinced, go out and buy it, them companies are good. When it comes to infant toys it is tricky to tell if a baby is going to like it or not. Every infant is different when it comes to learning. There is one particular company called SmartNoggin that claims to help parents and caregivers encourage early milestones in their infant’s development beginning at birth while using their product "NogginStik".
Until the ruling in Roe vs. Wade experiments involving fetal tissue were conducted without any scrutiny from the public sector (Maynard-Moody 13). The first documented procedure involving the transplant of fetal tissue was carried out by Italian researchers in 1928, doctors transplanted the pancreas of a fetus into a diabetes patient, the patient showed no signs of improvement (Maynard-Moody 11). Research involving fetal tissue didn’t become widespread until the 1960’s. In 1957, a non-habit-forming sleeping pill was released in Europe. The pill was widely used in Europe, but not approved in the United States. A few years after the release of the drug there was a sharp rise in the amount of European babies born with phocomelia or “seal limbs” this increase was traced back to the drug (Maynard-Moody 11). Shortly after this medical disaster, the United States government passed legislation that made pharmaceutical companies prove drugs were not harmful to unborn children before they could be prescribed for pregnant women.
This myth is BUSTED! According to both of these research articles this myth is not true. Those parents who allow their children to “cry-it-out” are actually allowing their children to develop health issues. These infants when older can develop eating, sleeping, hyperactivity, and mental health issues. The more an infant cries the more it is likely to have issues with that child in the long run. This myth is not true and for those who believe it, they may have something bad coming to them.
Believe it or not, there is a significant number of people in the general population who are unaware of the dangers of shaking an infant. These people may believe that shaking may help to stop the crying. In

The number one reason why a baby is shaken is because of inconsolable crying. (National Exchange Club Foundation, 1998) An infant may spend two to three hours a day crying. (The Epilepsy Association of Central Florida) A caregiver momentarily gives in to the frustration of responding to a crying baby by shaking. Caregivers may be inadequately prepared for children.
When infants are left to cry themselves to sleep it teaches them to fall asleep on their own, that’s known as the ‘’Cry it out’’ (CIO) method. The benefits of using the cry it out method will makes an infant be able to self sooth, become independent. Essential this method would lead to the child being able to sleep thought out the night and wake less often then children who hasn’t learned to self sooth. Which would make infants have less sleep problems become more successful sleepers as they grow up in age. (McClure 2015)
This is my journal of the daily life of a single teenage mother. My experience with my sugar baby was so much fun, but I soon learned that it wouldn't be easy caring for a baby all day long every day. Day one began my journey, when I introduced Lauren Ashley to my friends and family. I fixed her curly brown hair up in a bow, and I put on her a newborn diaper. There were so many styles of diapers to choose from in the store; it was mind-boggling. She had the cutest little ears I had ever seen. It was very heavy carrying Lauren Ashley everywhere all over school, including my books! The only time I needed a babysitter was when I had football games, pep-rallies, cheer practice, and class, so basically all day. I saw right then that daycare would be a necessity. I hired my parents, my grandmother, and my friends to baby sit. Whenever me and the other cheerleaders went to practice, we created a daycare in Mrs. Dennis' classroom. If Lauren Ashley were a real baby, I would pay around $90.00 a week just for her to go to daycare, and that doesn't include any extra food or diapers I would need to send. I also couldn't imagine having to wake up every two hours all night long to feed, change diapers, and rock Lauren Ashley back to sleep. But, I know I would really love my baby, so I would take care of her the proper way.
Statecraft was very useful for applying and experiencing concepts we learned in class. It was very helpful for understanding the material better because we actually experienced what we were learning instead of just reading about it. Had we not gone through the Statecraft simulation, the class would have been less interesting and less effective.
Learning in this manner has not yet been proven to affect the brain or nervous system but the thought of making someone think differently, as the Controllers did in BNW with many babies, can be frightening. The D.H.C said hypnopedia was a great way to embed thoughts into their memories. Making the babies hear the voice repeat words about why they should love their life and accept it, created the perfect world the people lived in. During the course of the past thirty years, the study of model organisms has become more significant in the study of embryological development. A model organism is a species that is easy to cultivate and monitor in a laboratory environment and is used to represent broad groups of organisms. Examples of successful and important model organisms include the Ascidia, Zebrafish, and Medeka species. Through intense researching of these organisms, scientists have been able to gain valuable insight into the developmental processes of many complex vertebrates, including humans.
Computer simulations are used very much in physics. Simple ones are used to do demonstrations of basic mechanics problems that would not normally be possible. Complex ones are used to simulate problems involving fluids, plasma, and turbulence. Some of these simulations are so complicated that entire installations are dedicated to them. There are many different applications of physics simulations.
Technology has had a very prominent influence on electronic fetal monitoring since its appearance in the 1960’s and 1970’s. For many years, fetal monitoring was simply done by listening to a fetal heartbeat through a stethoscope. Dramatic changes in the heartbeat, such as a long period or a drop in the rate or intensity, could be detected,. Now, not only is the electronic fetal monitor used on the outside of the womb by strapping electrodes to the mother’s abdomen but electrodes can also be inserted during the first stage of labor and placed directly on the baby’s head. With advanced technologies such as this the acidity of the infant’s blood as well as the heart rate can be measured.
In the excerpt from “Biosphere Politics” by Jeremy Rifkin. I found something very interesting. He states “The separation of human beings from nature and the parallel detachment of human consciousness from the human body has transformed western man into an alien on his own planet” (Rifkin). If people could take trips to other places with out leaving the sanctity of there own home it would be an amazing experience. I also was amazed with Rifkins idea of downloading the human consciousness into a machine. If this is possible the human kind has found the fountain of youth.
