Natural resources are raw materials that are taken from the earth, renewable or non renewable, that can be used for economic growth. Natural resources play a key role in energy use and production, even though they are finite. “The increasing scarcity of the resources that are currently being exploited poses a major challenge” (ETUC). Natural resources built the American economy, and we need to use them. Although there are many valid arguments against natural resources, the positive aspects outweigh the negative aspects. Natural resources provide jobs, income, and they help the United States government save money by using their own resources rather than other countries. Innovation has helped make the use of resources cheaper by using more and more of the natural product and by recycling more of the waste. America needs to use all renewable and non-renewable resources as much as they can for its own use rather than rely on other countries. Natural resources have always been a part of history. The world began with the use of natural resources, whether it was cavemen burning wood for heat or the Inuit natives building igloos out of blocks of ice. Natural resources build up an economy and supply an adequate number of occupations and opportunities for a civilization. According to Elena Paltseva and Jesper Roine, certain countries like Russia, Kazakhstan, and America have even gained immensely economically with the use and production of natural resources. “Is it good for a country to be rich in natural resources?
