National Sovereignty, Oppressive Government, and the US Role in the World
Introduction
The American attack against Afghanistan that was triggered by the September 11th tragedy once again raised the question of US role in the world. The current military intervention also touched the issue of the major factors, defining the course of US international policy. In the globalized world today the ratio of “soft power” (the ability to attract through cultural and ideological appeal) to “hard power” (a country’s economic and military ability to buy and coerce) used in solving international conflicts is constantly increasing (Nye 2). However, military campaigns still provide a way out of deepening international crises. Should America, then, engage in indiscriminate humanitarian interventions, advancing its ideas of democracy, human rights and liberty, or should it be militarily concerned only with international affairs that have a direct bearing on US vital national interests?
In my paper I argue that the US violation of a country’s sovereignty should come only after a careful consideration and deep investigation of the reasons behind an international conflict. Moreover, all interventions should be based on specific achievable end-goals and strategies. Also, US military campaigns’ rationale should suit America’s vital national self-interest, as I define it later. Several reasons support such an international policy:
First, in the long run the negative effects of a military international intervention, even if against oppressive governments, could actually outweigh the positive ones. Moreover, coercive policy could, in fact, aggravate a conflict by providing grounds for long lasting hostility, aggression, or ev...

Many people agree that Sony’s Playstation 4 is better than Microsoft’s Xbox One and vice versa. I have been gaming since I was seven years old and still am today. The first gaming console I ever had was the original Xbox. Throughout the years though, technology has improved vastly. The last generation of game consoles gave the industry a much needed boost and gave the consumer another commodity. With the eighth generation of consoles just arriving, a lot of people are wondering which console to buy. There is, however, more than just the choice of games. There’s differences in processors, graphics cards, hard drives, design, operating systems, ports, versatility, stability, controllers, and, of course, the games.
In this Paper I will be talking to you about the Next Generation Consoles and about all of their specifics. Next Generation Consoles are the newest and the best consoles and computers out there at this point in time. The consoles that will be my main focus in this paper are the, Xbox One and the PS4. The reason I picked these consoles instead of other consoles or computers is because I wanted to explain to you that these console were just not any other console, but a work of art instead.

A revolution is defined as: “the violent and abrupt overthrow of a sociopolitical regime that leads to change in the fundamental political and social institutions of a society.” At first glance, the Haitian Revolution appears to meet that criteria. The revolt lasted for 13 brutal years, from 1791 – 1804, and resulted in 62,000 dead Frenchmen and over 100,000 dead Haitians. In the end, the Haitians reigned victorious and gained their independence. The shear length, number of casualties, and overthrow of the French colonial government certainly satisfy the first. requirement. Meeting the second requirement, fundamental change in the political institution, was also attained. After Haiti attained independence, the Haitians gained control of their
I chose the PlayStation 4 as my artifact because it is the computer that provides media and entertainment to the largest screen in a living space: the television. Having a beautiful eighty inch flat screen is useless without a device to play media. The PlayStation 4 is my device of choice to have connected to my TV. It is the jack of all trades, gaming on it is phenomenal, there is a Blu-ray player built in, and it has hundreds, if not thousands, of apps including Netflix. With a PlayStation 4 plugged into my TV I have access to endless amounts of content; A fundamental need to the college life.
Generally it is well known in economics that purchasers always want to maximize their utility levels. The maximum utility is given by the formulae of max U = f(C, C’) being subject to the equation of future consumption {[Y – C](1+r) + W = C’ – Y’} . This is an important part for our assumptions since a customer would have problem determining his/her maximum utility for present as well as future consumption when faced with a certain lifetime budget constraint. The budget line represents the levels of consumption for both periods according to some factors such as present and future income as well as the interest rate level and has a slope of –(1+r ). Before considering the effects of a change in the interest rates it is important to understand the first step of the consumption model. In the diagrams A and B below, we can understand that (I) the indifference curves, act on behalf of the equal levels of utility satisfaction derived from different mixtures of present and future consumption. That being said the point (W), which is identified a...
Several of the problems that Haiti faces today have their genesis in the country’s colonial history. The country was like a toy being fought over by spoiled children. The first of these children arrived in the early sixteenth century in the form of Spanish settlers in search of gold. They enslaved the native Taino population and, poisoned by avarice, nearly eradicated the indigenous work force. Thousands of African slaves were brought in to take their place. Eventually, the Spanish left the island to grab their share of newly discovered treasure in other lands. Tiring of their toy, the Spanish
Ever since there have been video games to play there have been huge debates over which video game console was actually the best console of them all. Each new generation of consoles are better than the last. The PlayStation4, commonly referred to as the “PS4”, is the best gaming console to date, and provides its users with the best online gaming experience than the Xbox One based on its hardware, online services, and its accessories.
PS4 and Xbox One have similarities like they are both game systems that you can play online on. They both use controllers to play with. They both have a home button on the controller. They also both have to have an internet connection to play online. These kind of games systems don’t have a lot of similarities.
Sony PC games are the greatest in manufacturing the most famous queue of PlayStation. The queue rose out of a failure in contractual binding with Nintendo. Initially, Nintendo appealed for Sony to improve an add-on for its devices that can process dense discs. In 1991, Sony declared the add-on, with a devoted devise called as PlayStation. Still, a dispute on software permitting for the devise generated the agreement to decrease. Sony then sustained the forecast separately.
First of all, probably the biggest point is the hardware. They both have a x86 AMD APU at the heart of each which is a high end processor. This gives them similar qualities but the ps4 has the edge with a bigger Gpu giving it 18 compute units while the Xbox one has 12. This is 1152 shaders compared to Xbox’s 768. This in simple terms gives the ps4 the ability to have better graphics. Ps4 also has another bonus in graphics. While both have 8GB of RAM the ps4 has 5500MHZ. The Xbox one has only 2133MHz. This gives the ps4 better frame rates which means it can run smoother. This gives ps4 the edge in game performance.

Current military leadership should comprehend the nature of war in which they are engaged within a given political frame in order to develop plans that are coherent with the desired political end state. According to Clausewitz, war is an act of politics that forces an enemy to comply with certain conditions or to destroy him through the use of violence. A nation determines its vital interests, which drives national strategy to obtain or protect those interests. A country achieves those goals though the execution of one of the four elements of power, which are diplomatic, informational, military and economical means. The use of military force...
In conclusion, each generation learned from each other. With technology development becoming more rapid every year, innovations are happening all the time. The eighth generation brought forth by PlayStation 4, a removable hard drive that can be upgraded to hold more files up to about four terabytes. Someday consoles may work like computers, to upgrade it buy a better part. However, if predictors are correct consoles are a dying age and will be replaced by mobile gaming and PC gaming that many believe is more convenient to own. Consoles however, turned gaming into something nearly anyone can enjoy from sports games like Wii bowling to games that thrive on chaos like Grand Theft Auto V.
People’s ideas and assumptions about world politics shape and construct the theories that help explain world conflicts and events. These assumptions can be classified into various known theoretical perspectives; the most dominant is political realism. Political realism is the most common theoretical approach when it is in means of foreign policy and international issues. It is known as “realpolitik” and emphasis that the most important actor in global politics is the state, which pursues self-interests, security, and growing power (Ray and Kaarbo 3). Realists generally suggest that interstate cooperation is severely limited by each state’s need to guarantee its own security in a global condition of anarchy. Political realist view international politics as a struggle for power dominated by organized violence, “All history shows that nations active in international politics are continuously preparing for, actively involved in, or recovering from organized violence in the form of war” (Kegley 94). The downside of the political realist perspective is that their emphasis on power and self-interest is their skepticism regarding the relevance of ethical norms to relations among states.
