I am deeply grateful to be given the opportunity to apply to such an important organization as National Honor Society. To me, it reflects that I have achieved my goal of working as hard as I can to set an example in both my school and community, and I could not be more honored. This organization does great things for any community it touches, and I believe that I can play a part in furthering the impression that is made. As a student, I have always strived to learn as much as I can and receive the best grade possible. Throughout middle school and high school I have been on the honor roll, and it has always been a goal of mine to stand out among my peers. I am currently third in my class, with a cumulative GPA of 4.43. Though I began challenging myself with Perry’s honors courses as early as fourth grade, I felt that utilizing the CCP program offered through Lakeland was the best choice I could make for my future …show more content…

Though I am not the most outspoken person, I fully understand the responsibility one has to his team and the uplifting impact that setting an example and encouraging those around someone can have. Often I find myself happy to sacrifice my own free time and personal desires for the benefit of the team, and see this as one of the most important components of being a leader. During the summer, I start my morning at 7AM for cross country practice, and then head straight to work until 4:30PM everyday. Though this may not be as obvious a leadership role as being captain of the cheerleading squad, it is just one of the many examples that reflect my commitment to my team and my personal goals.
