People are shaped by the occurrences, decisions, etc, that happen in their lives, whether those occurrences be negative or positive in the end all depend upon that certain individual. The way out own character is shaped is dependent upon these certain situations. What you have seen, what you have experienced, everything that has happened to you, and the decisions that you have made along the way have built you into the person that you are today.
My first and most beloved passion was riding horses. When I was young, falling from the saddle of a horse was just about as terrifying as an experience could be for a little girl. Although, now that I am older I have come to realize that the experience I had helped shape my future. One of the most important lessons I have learned in life, I learned on the back of a horse. Like almost every little girl, I was hypnotized by horses. Something about the animal itself always seemed to capture my attention. As I grew up, I spent most of my life around horses, and I eventually found my real passion, riding them. The obsession that most young girls feel for horses usually only lasts a few years, something new comes along and horses are forgotten. However, this was not the case for me. Most people consider riding a horse to be a gentle hobby, that is picked up and laid down again every so often. However, riding a horse in my opinion is a grand passion. It may come as no surprise that when you face something with a risk, that at times that risk make present itself all too clearly, falling out of the saddle.
The day had started out on a family vacation, a day that I will certainly remember for the rest of my life. Crisp and frigid, the brisk New Hampshire air breathed new life onto the foliage p...

On that day I learned an important lesson when I fell out of the saddle; finding the courage to get back on. Horses have played such a significant role in my life. They have given me memories, values, and experiences that have guided me through my youth; and they have helped shaped the person I am today. Instilling complete trust into a thousand pound animal that can easily kill you with their body weight alone isnt something many people are capable of. No matter what happens, no matter what ever happens I will never regret all that horses have given to me. Falling off of Ricci that day had taught me that even though something bad may happen, fear and risk should never keep you from pursuing the things that you love.
Dr. Seuss once wrote that “today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is youer than you”, but what makes a person unique? A person’s character is what makes them who they are. It is the foundation of personality, words, and actions, and it grows with every trial in an individual’s life. Personal struggle develops character because it brings to light what a person will and will not do, allows them to find or develop talents, it creates an opportunity to alter their mindset, and the experience gained will stay with the individual forever.
... a sense of accomplishment and they feel as they can do anything they can set their mind to. Students also gain respect for their peers, animals, and the volunteers while riding horse.
When we began to start doing good everybody saw it. We went from average to above average in just two months. I had him for two years before we started running average runs and my hard work finally paid off. One spring afternoon I won my first barrel race against about fifty grown women and at least 30,000 dollar horses. I won over 1,000 dollars that weekend and my confidence was sky high. All of my hard work had paid off. After that night i began to win more and more barrel races. After two years all of my hard work and persistence had paid off.
A person does not experience many events that shape their life in a large way, whether it be for better or worse. I have had just one major situation that has sculpted me into the person that I am today. In February of 2008, I was diagnosed with a life changing disease; it would relieve me of the agony I had been experiencing for as long as I could remember, but also restrict my diet for the rest of my life.
Most equestrians will agree that the most relaxing place to be is out in nature, with just you and your horse, with no worries in the world. The wooded cross country course and the rolling wheat field are a tranquil and quiet place to spend quality time learning about and enjoying your horse. The cross country course provides a motivating factor for eventers like no other. The wheat fields have a meditation-like feel with the quiet rustling of the plants in the soft wind.
The quote “Your character is what you yourself choose to make it.” is a complete lie. There are some things a human cannot control, their character trait just happens to be one of those things. Life throws us good and bad influences that shape and form us into who we are. There are true stories, there are facts and these influences will determine who you become in the future. Let me explain.
Eventually, a majority of my rides started to get lengthier, and I started to feel like I was starting to get the hang of it. I finally got the self-confidence that I knew I needed if I was going to be able to do overcome this challenge. I hopped on the bike, getting a feeling that this was going to be my lucky run. As usual, my dad gave me a little push start, and I was on my way. I rode through the grass like it was a breeze, and I didn’t fall off at all. I could hear my dad in the distance shouting, “Good job! You got it!” It was at this moment when I knew that I had finally learned how to ride a bike.
My very first ride on a roller coaster was on the eleventh best roller coaster in the world. Even though this first ride scared me tremendously, it has taught me that life has many ups and downs that can jerk you around; you just have to hold on and enjoy the
Narrative writing is a genre of writing that all students use at some point in school, whether it’s elementary, high school, or college. With Narrative writing I’m sure people have different views than I do and might not enjoy it as well as I. But I’m sure there are others that enjoy it the same if not more than me. This form of writing can be a chance to escape from reality and have fun with your writing. Narrative writing can consist of many different stories from created ones to real life experiences, such as a story starting out true but ending with a twist.
I just sat there, I didn´t kick her, didn't make her move, I was to scared. I had been waiting to ride a horse by myself for months, and now they were finally letting me do it. Fear was holding me back.
Contrary to my achievements, my first tryst with horse riding wasn’t smooth sailing. Distinct images of the first day at the stable flash before my eyes every time I reflect upon my humble beginning. I was helped on to the horse by my trainer and instructed to take the reins in my hands when suddenly the horse spooked and charged towards the fence. I fell off and lay still; the
Finally, we were boarding the ride, and there was no turning back now. I had to face my fears. As the ride started moving I was holding on for my life, there was no way I was letting go till the ride was over. We started up the first part and I was prepared to go up and down the hills ahead. When the ride went down the hill, my scream was forced out of me, and I couldn’t stop. As we jerked around corners, and zoomed down hills my fears were getting smaller. When we went down the last hill I actually put my hands in the air.
Humans are born with a set of pre determined genetic make-up that acts as our hand of cards. But during the first stage of life we are heavily influenced by the moments we experience. The making of person we become later down the road begins the moment we enter the world. We are all a collection of our experiences.
In conclusion, horses mean more to me than many other things. They are part of my friends and family, but I also have great respect for them. Horses are surrounded by benefits that make us feel exceptional. Their colors are all attractive. Their breeds are marvelous and unique. Their history with us is quite a beneficial relationship. Their behavior is different from ours, but is an easy language to learn. Showing horses is exhilarating! Caring for them can seem like a chore, but is actually an overall fun and propitious experience. Riding horses is fun and meaningful, not just something to learn or do just because. And, no matter what people say, I believe there is something truly special about my dear friend the horse.
Riding horses is not to hard, but there are a few things to consider. Horses can sense when someone is scared, which will cause the horse to spook, and another is riding is a team effort so there has to be trust. Balance is major especially when the horse is running across the field and it becomes a little difficult to stay one do to the bouncing of the horse. There are techniques for riding, but you have to find which one works for you, it is kind of like trial and error. The smells will stay with a person for a long time, for example, the smell of the leather saddle, dust from the
