Atsumori is a Nō drama written by Zeami whereas Nonomiya was thought to have been written by Komparu Zenchiku. Even though these two dramas were written by different people, they both incorporate past literary sources as their base. Nō dramas are usually influenced by past works of literature such as Genji Monogatari, Ise Monogatari, and the Kokinshū. These two Nō plays are mainly based upon Heike monogatari and Genji monogatari.
The Atsumori Nō drama was based from Heike Monogatari and the story of Atsumori of the Taira clan who was killed by Kumagai of the Minamoto clan. Like many other Nō plays, this one focuses on Buddhism and how a spirit that needs help moving on. This is accomplished usually by reciting the Lotus sutra and praying. There are some important psychological aspects too, such as how fighting will accomplish nothing and how important forgiveness and prayers are.
The significance of the play was that it added more to the original story including religion and remorse. It gave a more in depth look at some of the characters from the tale. Kumagai felt guilty for ki...
In conclusion I think that the stage directions and dramatic irony are significant to the play, and without them there would be no need for a lot of the events that happen in the play.
his life is morally wrong. This contributes to the theme or themes of the play
... of all time, with a protagonist that is plagued with indecision, but spurred by a desire to avenge his father’s death. At the time of the play’s writing, religion was by far the largest influence on the lives of ordinary people, and the protagonist’s defiance of God for most of the play could only end in tragedy.
Among the most classic Japanese Nō dramas is none other than Izutsu, or “The Well-Cradle” as often translated in English. Written by Zeami who is perhaps the most influential playwright to the Nō Theater, Izutsu was composed around the late 14th century during the Muromachi Period in Japan. In comparison with other Nō plays, it is relatively simple in nature as there are only three roles that need to be played—shite, waki, and ai—and the story is very characteristic of the typical Nō drama (Araki and Brazell, 143). Because a woman assumes the shite role, Izutsu is classified as a third-category play or katsura-mono (wig play), and since the play deals with supernatural happenings, or in the play’s case, the remaining spirit of a woman, it is also considered to be a mugen (phantasmal) nō (Tyler, 124). Through a careful analysis of Izutsu, one may not only observe its fascinating story, but also learn about its structure, aesthetic themes, and associations with the Buddhist religion that easily make this play one of the greatest Nō dramas of all time.
To conclude, reading the plays of Shakespeare is not only about an entertainment, there is more about learning manhood and the importance of the role that morality plays in everyday life. That is the reason of Shakespeare’s plays are so popular because through his work, he illustrates that: life is a play, which is performed on the earth stage, and his world stage will continue influences the past, modern and further.
Claudius' soliloquy about his remorse over his murder of Hamlet's father is important to the play because it's the one place where we learn how Claudius feels about what he has done. The rest of the play is all about how Hamlet feels about what Claudius has done, and I think it rounds out the play to get it from a different perspective.
In this essay I shall be writing about why I agree that with the play,
Even so, both scholars and theater critics praised the dramatic structure and impact of the play itself, and audiences have received it enthusiastically. The drama isn't intended to be a biography; it's a powerful story of envy, obsession and betrayal, using historical figures and anecdotes as springboards for timeless messages.

"Othello" is a good example of Aristotelian drama. It is simple play and the focus is on a very small cast of characters. It has few distractions from the main plot and concentrates on just a few themes, such a jealousy, prejudice, pride and honesty. Jealousy is the emotion that drives the action of Othello. It has the classical unities of time, place (setting is in Venice in the first act and Cyprus thereafter) and action. Othello's cast is made up of "ordinary" people of moderate rank, and not of heroic stature and the dramatic action is interpersonal rather than universal.
one of the most important reasons could be the use of humour in the play.
I feel the University of Illinois Department of Theatre choose this play because it was a great play to surprise you on how much you may like theatre. Personally, I really enjoyed the play because all of the assignments I have completed I saw put into work. It made me think about things I could’ve done to be more creative with my treatments, which made me appreciative of the play. For example, the thunderstorm added sound effects, a background, and water dropping to enhanced the experience of the audience. Another example would be how all the actor were on point at all points of the play. I thought to myself if you are not one of the main people talking at the moment, you would be talking about random things or doing nothing, but this was not the case. I looked around at all the actors and they all played their roles and took even their smaller roles
It tells the meaning and the significance of the what the story is happening and what the character are doing. It also enhance drama, when Scar kills Mufasa. And the scene comes with a lot of sadness which means that the father is dead and the son feels that it was all of his fault. It also establish character. It shows when Simba left the pride land, because of his father’s death, and got saved by Pumbaa and Timon, it showed his matured and adulthood that he would be the next pride land king. It also gives and psychological insight showing what would an animal do if it got away of his home town and what made the lion a king. It also show the intensity of drama when Simba and Scar were fighting because Scar killed Simba’s father. It also gave the film continuity when at the end of the film came out the heir of the pride
...director did not limit the film to its historical context but extended the same to romance and fantasy. From a different angle of view, the director made use of the theme to communicate with the viewers and the fictional characters can be considered as his tools. Besides, ample importance is given to historical and fictional characters. In short, the amalgamation of history, fantasy and romance constituted much to the film’s importance as a historical/fictional masterpiece.
