My writing skills have been improving over the course of this semester. The helpful handouts did actually help with my writing process. This class has also given me the chance of building on the skills have learned in the previous semester and applying these skills to the papers I have written. I have seen some growth in my writing style and the way I word things.
Word usage I improved a lot on and has made me a better writer or more skilled. I believe the papers I have written this semester have improved compared to the papers I write in English 111.
Also, like English 111, English 112 has also taught me how to be creative with my writing and how to include different styles in the papers I wrote. This class has taught me how to analyze

Outlining can help with what kind of literary devices are going to be used. What kind of sources are being used and how they are being used effectively. Finally, the rough draft, proofreading then writing the final draft. Doing the rough draft is compiling all the thoughts together. This helped me with making sure the paper made sense and all the thoughts flowed together. After completing the rough draft, ALWAYS proofread the draft for any grammatical or literary errors in the paper. This will help with seeing if the paper makes sense and prevent disruption or “chopped” thoughts. Then after proofreading and editing the paper. I began writing the final draft. Even though this is the final draft, I wanted to proofread it again to make sure I did not forget any mistakes that were made in the rough draft. Also, do any last-minute tweaks.

As I look back into my high school years, I thought I wrote papers well. But then coming into a college environment, my papers were mediocre. By overlooking at my past papers, I found that they were unorganized, sloppy and had bad use of diction. From now on, I will use the tools I learned in English 1100-40 as a foundation for the future papers I intend on writing in college. Following the criteria of organizing ideas so that they flow, impacting the reader with diction and also by being creative, will help become an ideal writer. Following the criteria of staying motivated in short and long term goals, taking responsibility for actions and finally the ability to study well will help me develop into a supreme student.
Especially with the help of my professor Ms. Piper. I was still having trouble on material on writing, but she helped me by teaching us the writing process, how to revise our drafts, and how to use outlines to help us. She has also taught us ways of breaking down paragraphs in piece of writing to help us understand what we are reading about. I feel with this new approach it opened my eyes on a way to help me excel on my writing, and reading. I am an excellent writer and reader than I was before.
In "The Maker's Eye: Revising Your Own Manuscript," the writer, Donald Murray, demonstrates that writers need to create a few drafts. In the improvement of creating drafts, each draft can be changed and reworked to be clearer. Authors need to welcome both negative input and compliments and be suspicious of both. Murray likewise focuses on the significance of reworking, which incorporates forms like filtering drafts and altering issues which sentences are not in respect to the theory with a specific end goal to make them legible (Murray, p.102). Also, writers must make sure to be more aware of the audience interests and be sure their audience understands the information which the writer is trying to precisely convey. As such, authors must comprehend
This year in College Writing one has been very interesting. I understand now that there is a lot more that goes into writing a paper than I first thought. I especially realize this when I look back at one of my first papers which was the descriptive essay titled, "The Hidden Truth."

As a second language learner I have never expected myself to be a perfect writer throughout the semester. Even If English was my first language still, I would not be a perfect writer. It is not about first or second language, it is about how well I understand the learning objectives. Then organizing and writing with my own ideas and putting them in my paper. I am going to be honest, I am not good at English subject and English subject is my strongest weakness than the other subjects. In this paper I will discuss and analyze my own writing, reflecting on the ways that my writing has improved throughout the semester.

...ssy. The opportunity to write this research paper on whatever went well. This topic really helped me open up to different types of writing, and it helped me express myself.
That is why the process of editing ones second draft is necessary, one must read their own work to themselves in order to catch their mistakes. Writing is a difficult task to grasp, one must be grammatical correct. One must make sure that their writing make since and is not non sense thrown on a piece of paper. “Writing is a creatively rewarding occupation but for me very time consuming”.
It is important to mention that engaging the reader is vital from the first ground breaking lines til the finish touch. This perspective can reflect focus and clear organized thinking. Also, testing paper`s purpose, key points, implications, readability and appeal can prevnt heartache and failure. A peer view is highly recommended before paper
Before I came to English 101 I was more of a raw writer than most people. Although I would write my papers filled with great content, I would also have many problems with my grammer and organization. Throughout my time in this class I have developed and trained multiple areas of my writing. Some of the areas that I have improved the most have been grammer, organization, and MLA format. These areas have lead to an evolution in my writing that has given me a new level of understanding in English. Which has provided me with the skills that will endow me to achieve success in english 102.
Paul Roberts, in "How to Say Nothing in 500 Words", talks about the mistakes that students often make while writing papers. One of the biggest issues with students when they are writing papers is the fact that they are too timid. Rather than thinking outside of the box, they focus on common issues and the simple, obvious answers to questions. To create a quality paper the writer must be willing to bring forth ideas that are not commonly used or else you will bore the reader. Another common mistake is beating around the bush, get to the point. Students are often under the false impression that loading up basic sentences with extra words can make a paper better, but they are falling victim to making a paper that is "a wolf in sheep's skin." Meaning, they are filling up a paper that is not necessarily good with big words and phrases in order to make it seem good. This is known as word-padding. One of the most effective ways to improve a paper is by incorporating examples of what is being written about. Mr. Roberts makes it a point to prove the importance of such examples. If the reader does not understand a part of the paper then having it broken down with an example can easily help to dismiss any confusion. There are three types of writing; the concepts of "colored writing", "colorful writing", and "colorless writing." Paul Roberts breaks down and explains the differences of these concepts.

Finally, using all available online resources provides the college-level writer the ability to investigate their subject and fine-tune their essay. Overall, outstanding writing skills are an invaluable tool for the college student.
I fixed the errors such as grammar and incomplete sentences. After that, I went to Success Center to let Donna, a tutor proofread my paper. Donna had taught me a lot on writing this year. For example, she taught me how to write the title of the essay, where in the paragraph to place the transition sentences, when to use the colon, semicolon, and which form of the verb to use for a certain noun. She also showed me how to use Word that I was not familiar with before. I am glad I came to MCC because we have free tutors. It must be tough to go to university without having a tutor. Although we have free tutors at MCC, I do not just sit there in the room and let them do the work for me. I tried to remember what they taught me and tried my best on writing because I want to be a good
