My way to becoming an MBA
Motivation Statement
The world is changing from day to day. In order to cope with this constant change, every single person needs to be flexible, open minded and innovative in every matter.
I am currently working for Archer Daniels Midland, one of the leaders on the market of agricultural products. ADM has its offices in nearly every country of the world, giving jobs to people of more than a hundred different nationalities. Therefore, it was imperative to ensure a high level of flexibility at my current position, being ready to relocate and start up a new life, in a new surrounding, with new tasks, with new colleagues.
In the past I worked on many personal projects from different areas including: online social networking (www.crown-club.eu), B2B Directories (www.paraxon.biz) and even fashion (www.anthonicrown.com).
The unique MBA online course offered by the University is the only MBA program worldwide, which can move together with me whenever it would become necessary to dislocate in order to grow within ADM or any other globally orientated enterprise. The online course makes group projects and interactions possible, which pushes networking and social interactions among the "future masters" to an entirely new level.
I believe that the time has come to go further than salesmanship at the oil crushing plant in Mainz, Germany. I believe that I am ready for more strategic, global and political tasks.
I am sure that the MBA online course of the University of Phoenix will give me the foundation, to make “the change” happen.
My MBA - furthering and changing my career
The Jungian 16-Type Self-Assessment ranked me into the ENTP category, as being innovative, individualistic, versatile, and entrepreneurial, with a possible career as politician, strategic planner, literary agent, publicist, entrepreneur, investment broker, computer analyst, or advertising executive.
I see a big connection of this categorization of my personality to my personal future career goal of occupying an executive position in a globally set-up enterprise. Therefore, I am pursuing an MBA in order to build a solid foundation of theory where “a lot of practical success could be built on.” A master’s degree in Business Administration ranks the holder directly into the top category of management and brings many opportunities and advantages unseen before.
While other children watched their favorite cartoon or played their favorite video game, reading business articles and watching the fluctuations seen in the stock market enthralled me. Renowned leaders in the business world have always been of interest to me, specifically Warren Buffet. My favorite quote by Buffet is “It’s better to hang out with people better than you. Pick out associates whose behavior is better than you and you’ll drift in that direction.” By attending CMU, I would personify this quote. Growing up, my parents have instilled into me, many essential values, such as working hard and “being the best me I could be.” I have always expected a lot from myself, but high expectations from my parents and close friends, have increased my work ethic and lifted my goals and aspirations even higher. For that reason, I hope to challenge myself through the prestigious Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Science’s economics curriculum. The undergraduate economics program would prepare me for a vast array of careers. Jobs in policy, law, and business are all possible, or if one desires to go to some sort of post graduate school, that is also possible. By having such a top-notch education, I would surely be closer to achieving my goal of receiving my MBA from Tepper. In making all this possible, a wide range of classes must be made available. Classes that are available in just about any economics curriculum, like Intermediate Economics, are also available here, but classes like Behavioral Economics and Global Electronic Markets are what makes CMU unique. The program is clearly not a perfect substitute for experience, but I believe it would program would also allow me to further research my business ideas through the experiences of my peers, independent study, and related summer employment. This would let me have a deep understanding, as I hope, of financial and other market structures, competitiveness, and other factors that a consultant needs take into account when recommending whether to pursue a career as an international business consultant.
As the title of this paper states, “How our World is Changing” our world is constantly changing. Our world changes everyday without most of us ever seeing or noticing any changes, but as we look back in history we can see some tremendous changes. As history is studied these changes become apparent and truly jump out and become real.
I was very fond of business administration and I gained a lot of management skills and knowledge on how to manage and develop business as well my personal life. I am very focused on business management specifically on an international aspect because I am interested to know in depth how business works locally and internationally. My motivation to obtain an MBA is two-fold: (1) to acquire the finance & managerial expertise to run a nonprofit enterprise, and (2) to prepare myself for an eventual return to India, where I will start a non-profit organization to help entrepreneurs develop and implement their ideas in education sector. Eventually, I hope to make a meaningful contribution to the Indian education sector by creating jobs and building a spirit of community.

Thus the reasons why I want to go back to university and do a MBA to get myself a thorough business background to understand not only my career experiences but other students as well and put them in to business context and have a holistic view of the organization.
