My Understanding Of Music

The base of my understanding of music begins with the fact that I had grown up within Los Angeles, specifically in mid-city. I did not really have any restrictions to music and the only recollection which music was standard is when I was much smaller and my father would hum a Vietnamese lullaby to get me to sleep. There was a period in which I rejected the music which was prevalent in popular culture, yet I now accept it if not listen to some of it. If I were to create a timeline of the taste in music for which I had would be a long one, but I could mainly simplify it to major stages. I think the first music for which I was most interested in was the music my father had introduced to me which had some range. Songs from which I recall and still like to listen to often would be “Hotel California” by the Eagles, “Black Magic Woman” by Santana, “House of the Rising Sun” by the Animals, “Pipeline” by the Chantays, and “Stayin Alive” by the Bee Gees.
