I enjoyed the dance concert; from the thirteen dance performances was the After Part, Eternal Pointe Dreams, and Shifting Perceptions. I actually enjoyed all of the dance performances nbut the main ones that captured my attention were those three dance performances. Today when I went to the dance concert I arrived early to get great front row seats and get a pamflit to gather enough information as possible. I was still not exactly sure what to expect given the fact that the first dance performances wasnt really for me and did not capture my attention so much. Even though I enjoyed the first dance concert because I was able to participate in it. In this second dance concert I was not able to get the chance to participate in it like I did in the first dance concert but it was still such a great dance concert. The reaction from the audience members and my reaction as well towards the dance concert was that it was fantastic. I heard nothing but great coments about this dance concert. I really enjoyed everything about it. My first impression to this dance concert was that it was going ...
I had the pleasure of being in Western Kentucky University Dance Department’s concert, An Evening of Dance. The performance took place on April 29th through May 2nd in Russel Miller Theatre. It consisted of many works from faculty and guest artists. I felt like the concert was a success and that the choreography was all unique in its own way. I enjoyed the pieces that I performed, and the ones that my fellow company members were in. Through the analysis of “Petrichor”, I found that each production and chorographic element plays a large part in the successful outcome of a dance and emotional responses can be evoked by the simplest ideas.
On Friday November 15, 2013, I attended a concert that I found very interesting. It took place at 7:30 pm at the First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant. The group performing was the Erie Chamber Orchestra but as a special the Slippery Rock University Concert Choir was also there.
The jazz band I observed played a series of six different songs. Although all the songs were categorized as jazz, each song had its own special style and sound to it. The band consisted of three different players. Paul Meyers, the guitarist and composer, Andy Eulau, the bassist, and Dave Rataczak, on drums. The songs performed were entitled “Love for Sale” by Cole Porter, “Once I Loved” by Antonio Carlos Jobim, “Stars” by Paul Meyers, “Blues for Mel” also by Paul Meyers, “Last Night When We Were Young” by Harold Arlen, and “Samba Novo” by Luis Eca.
I chose to do my concert critique on Eric Clapton-MTV unplugged full concert-HQ January 16, 1992 at Bray Film Studios in Windsor, England. Eric Clapton is my favorite rock n roll singer which has a mixture of genres. The concert was inside and on stage. The audience was seated up close to the stage which made the atmosphere comfortable; Eric and the band showed much warmth and connected with the crowd it wasn’t like the band was untouchable.
I am going to talk about the intonation, balance and blend of the Sartell High School Wind Ensembles most recent performance. The style of the pieces played were mostly themes from musicals, movies, and television shows. The pieces performed were titled Star Wars, Baba Yetu, Somewhere, Into the Woods, and What’s up at the Symphony. The concert took place on March 9th, 2016 in the Sartell High School auditorium at 7:30 p.m.
...xcited to have this experience. Part of the drama of the concert at first is felt when the musicians come in and sit down and begin tuning up their instruments. I would not be able to comment on the performance of the orchestra. During the performance, I seen the audience were moving with the music, but I felt like that everyone seems knows more music than what I learned throughout this semester. After I went home and did some of the research on these music I finally understand why these people like to attend the orchestra concerto, it was because that every piece of music has a history behind it. The Los Angeles audience seemed to me to be people who know music and who will listen to something new in a respectful way. All the same, when the more familiar sounds of the last piece were heard, I could feel a little sense of relaxation and fun coming into the room.
In closing I would like to state the going to all of these performances really showed me how much time a effort it takes each student to prepare and preform there respected pieces. I really hope that next time I can go to more, and maybe one day have a performance of my own.
For my concert write up, I attended the UCR Chamber Singers Valentine's concert on February 9th at the Culver Center of the Arts in downtown Riverside. It was a mix of ensemble pieces, solos, duos, and trios. The setting for the performance was a beautifully lit spot in the center surrounded by art. The audience seats were set up close to the performance area, in about 5 or so rows surrounding the front half of the 'stage'. By the time the performance started, it was nearly full, seemingly diverse, and made up of all ages. Certain members of the audience were very responsive to each performance and it was very easy to tell who was engaged and enjoying the show. They showed this by smiling, laughing, making eye contact, and recording, or taking
1.) My favorite dance lab was West African because I enjoyed dancing to the beat of the drums and learning about the history of the dance we performed. The choreographer mentioned that the dance we performed is normally performed to welcome outsiders. One reason why I found the dance lab enjoyable is because it was my first time dancing West African so I was vulnerable and less judgmental. Therefore, I did not feel hesitant in learning how to dance West African; instead, I was really into the dance and gave it all my energy. On the other hand, if the music was different I do not think I would have liked this style of dancing because I enjoyed dancing to the beat of the drums and the music. What
...he way that it was performed. The crowd appeared to like this last and final piece much more than any other one on that particular day, and this stood out to me the most out of every part of the show. Also, when the Pace, pace mio Dio was started, and the pianist forgot to bring her notes with her to the stage. She looked confused and her embarrassment was noticeable.
As part of this assignment, I attended the UA Dance show: Jazz in AZ. While I enjoyed all of the performances that were presented during the show, I did find that two performances spoke to me more than the others. The two performances I enjoyed most were: —- and —-.
Dance is a part of every culture. Whether it is the fire dances of the native Hawaiians, or the Tango from Spain, dance is a part of every culture. This event is not an event I would usually attend. I am not into art of any kind except music. At first, there were two reasons I went to this performance.
In conclusion, the concert was really interesting and I enjoyed myself. In my opinion the two pieces that I really like in this concert, are Sounden Horn and Polonaise from Engine Onegin, the shift between the melodic lines and the element of beauty is what made me like it. In the future I would recommend it to my friends and I will not mind to go with them at all. This kind of music is the best to me by far.
The students instruments and voices were very crisp. From what I could tell, they hit every note in both the band and choir performance, especially the choir part. The mood ranged from song to song. In the band side, “A Freaky Fantasy” was very fast paced and had a very light mood. While “Ayre And Dance” was a slower, more dramatic and quiet song. I was very impressed how the performers could completely change their instruments and energy level to accompany each song. The entire band was rhythmically together throughout the whole performance. I also noticed that there were many changes in the dynamics of these two pieces. Even though the first song was a fast paced song, it didn't start out like that. So I was very impressed with the performers ability to make these musical changes. The choir part of this concert had to be my favorite. The three songs were all so different. “Count On Me” was a beautifully performed piece. The lyrics and beat were really meaningful to me in this song. In “Laudate Dominum” and “Firefly”, the pitch varied a great amount. I also think that the harmony and melody were very well balanced in all three of theses songs, especially “Count On Me”. Overall, I was incredibly impressed with the performance. The energy level was perfect for every song or piece, and the enthusiasm from the performers was outstanding. I could definitely tell that this concert had been practiced and rehearsed to
