Sometimes the greatest life-changing experiences occur when least expected. One of the greatest things to have happened to me started in my senior year of high school, although at first it did not seem like it would be. All three years prior to my senior year, I had to take PE which I absolutely dreaded going to because I did not feel that it was worth taking. My goal for my senior year was to fill my schedule with other classes so that I would not have to be in there. Once I had my schedule sorted out, there was one setback in which I thought that the only choice I had was to take PE, however with the help of my school counselor, we found an alternative that has effected my college major and career. It did however give me the opportunity to go to a kindergarten classroom with an amazing group of students, which lead me to reconsider education as a possibility for my major and I am glad I did. Having this experience reminds of the Play-dough activity we did in class. When we did this, I started with yellow and then I added pink Play-dough which at the end created a completely new color. Before my involvement in the kindergarten classroom, I could be compared to the yellow color because I did not have that hands-on experience. With the addition of that experience, I have gained new perspectives and a passion for teaching that I did not have before, which has caused me to change into a new color effecting my future. In my college experiences, I have enjoyed the education classes that I have taken, but this semester I have finally started my first practicum. Now I get to experience the same passion and excitement for teaching that I first had three years ago with a group of kindergartners and oddly enough, I get to continue that excitement and passion with them now as third
