Upon my arrival I stood eagerly in line awaiting my turn. The excitement flooding my body, people all around me, and cheerful music ringing in my ear. The closer my body reached the front, the more my butterflies fluttered in my stomach. As a day of new experiences was about to begin, I grabbed out my camera, and began to create memories with a click of a button. Once it was finally my turn to enter, the man at the ticket booth grabbed my pass, scanned it, and told me “Welcome to Disneyland!” Once I heard the magical, “swoosh” noise from the ticket booth, I jolted right into the park. My friends following behind me, just as eager and ecstatic as me. Disneyland, my second home, is the place that’s consumed my life for the last three years. While I do go every other month, it still creates new and wonderful memories each time I attend When taking my first few steps for the days into the park, my eyes wandered at all the blissfulness around me. Young to old, people were dressed up in mickey ears, Disney merchandise, and even dressed up as their favorite princess. Laughter mixed with th...
A basic of Disney theme parks is the Main Street USA zone. This section features highly in all of the parks, usually coming right after the entrance. Key services like Guest Relations are located in this section, inside the "City Hall" (HK Disney Source, 2014). There are a number of elements to the Main Street, USA exhibit, and these will be discussed along with the history of Main Street USA in this paper. In particular, how the different elements of Main Street USA work together are covered. The concept has proven to be long-lasting, even across cultures, because of its magical portrayal of idealized American life, which draws heavily on Walt Disney's own childhood experiences.
almost every aspect of our lives” (19). However, does Disney stand for pure and innocent
Ever since I was a child, my family and I have been Disney fanatics. The Disney empire has created many amazing places, but my favorite location to visit is the Walt Disney World Resort. Every day 50,000 people from all over the world arrive at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida to experience the magic. When the park first opened its gates in 1971, 10,000 visitors made their way through. That number has multiplied five-fold and continues to multiply to this day. Since the 1971 opening, over 600 million people have experienced the magic of Disney. In my lifetime, I have visited the park with my family and friends six times. Each visit lasted four days in order to experience all the parks and their unique offerings. When I’m in Disney World, the experience each time is incredible.
Walt Disney World is a popular culture site that I have loved and respected ever since I went in 2001. In the following pages I will be talking about the history behind Walt Disney World, the reason why it is popular, the ideology that Walt Disney World reflects, the pleasurable aspects of Walt Disney World, and how gender norms that are seen at Walt Disney World. All of these ideas will be covered, discussed, and researched. Along with these ideas I will be delving into why I hold a love for Walt Disney World and how Walt Disney World lured me into loving them for more than 14 years. I will also go into how the gender norms that are at Walt Disney World reflect my own gender identity.
Ever think a crazy mob of vacationers would storm the gates of an amusement park, stampede your family, and crush your dreams of getting to the ride you most wanted to get on. Yeah, neither did I, but I guess I was wrong! Here are a few ways to survive Disney. To begin, when out of control thrill riders swarm the entrance of the park, before it even opens, and start yelling, “The new ride is to the left” you and your crew head to the right. We came prepared and our family preordered a park map and had a shortcut to Disney’s newest ride. However, this shortcut was not for the weak and we were in for some serious cardio if we wanted to beat the swarm. Next, when Disney throws an obstacle at you like their Good Morning Parade featuring Safari Mickey, Minnie, and Donald you know it’s time to get creative. Luckily, my family knows Disney like the back of their hand, so cutting through the gift shops seemed fitting. Yes, this was a detour but only meant we needed to step it up. Time
This idea leads to more ideas that come like lyrics to a song in Walt Disney’s mind filled with imagination. Before I can continue with that though, I must rewind to the year 1954 when the construction of the park begins. This idea is given the name Disneyland. As the construction of this project continues and the opening date approaches, six thousand invitations for the Grand Opening are being mailed to studio workers, construction workers, the press and company sponsor
It had been two months of fundraising, and the long awaited trip to Magic Mountain was finally here. I was just the tiniest bit uneasy about the whole idea, based on the fact that I had never stepped foot onto a theme park. Magic Mountain was sort of a big choice as a first timer, but what could I possibly do, I had no say in where we went. It was kind of like a band
It was my dream to always own my own home. My wife and I set out to purchase a house on our own. In our process of trying to be first-time homeowners, we looked at so many houses until we were about ready to say maybe now is not the time. One day we were out driving not really looking and stumbled upon a house which we thought would be our home. We got the information we needed and made the call to see the house. The house was a newly built house with all the amenities my wife wanted. Not knowing the ends and the outs of purchasing a house, we thought that it could not be that hard. We went all in for this house, our house. The builder/realtor was not willing to negotiate the asking price of the house. We were even expected to pay closing cost. The contract included a lot of costs which we also found out were non-negotiable. Had we been represented by a agent, things may have gone a little differently. We were then told that there was another contract on the house and it would be taken. We lost the house we considered or thought would be our home.
Each year millions of dollars are spent on therapy because people want to re-live their childhood. These people discover late in life that childhood was the time period where the most meaningful parts of life were. Things from our past don't just fade away, they are part of us, and most people greatly miss them weather they know it or not. My most meaningful place is my parents' house because it is a symbol of reliving my childhood, indulging in good times, and just plain feeling at home.
The second I stepped foot onto the amusement park’s property, I could feel the magic swirling all around me. As I walked through the crowds of people young and old wearing Disney apparel and Mickey Mouse ears, everything seemed so enchanting: the cheerful music, the twinkly lights on all of the buildings, and the stores that could have been from my favorite Disney movies. Walking along the streets, I took pictures of everything around me because I did not want to forget a single detail; I took pictures of the vibrant yellow, red, and pink flowers that lined the streets, the buildings with intricate details and designs, and the massive roller coasters that glided so swiftly on their tracks. The air was filled with heavenly scents of sweet churros, and I had to get one; it was delectable. Everything at Disneyland seemed perfect and like it was out of a movie. Even as I was about to leave, I got drawn back in; spectacular, bright, colorful fireworks started bursting right over my head, and I could not bring myself to go. My first visit to Disneyland was truly enchanting and magical. At the time I thought no other vacation could
My favorite summer vacation was when my Father took me to Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. It was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. What made it even more memorable was the fact that it was my very first time on an airplane. I cannot recall another time in my life when I experienced so much joy. That trip to Universal Studios was the first time my Father and I actually did something together, just the two of us and was something brought me close to my Father. In this essay I will tell you about my plane ride over there, what I did right when I got there, and about my time at Universal Studios.
My dream place would be a house on a Galapagos Island. My land will be located on the Isabella Island. It will be nice and relaxing because it has a constant weather all that time, perfect environment. Also I will have a nice 2 floor cabin. The cabins will look like the ones that you see in forest. My whole family will live there after I am 75. But before that I will spend my time gathering all the money to buy a piece of land, a plane, a boat, and some vegetable seed (lot of them). I want my dream place to be nice and relaxing where you can enjoy the environment and very peaceful weather.
Do you ever wonder why certain places mean so much to certain people? When I think of my bedroom, I realize why some people are touchy about who goes in their room or who has been touching things in their home, it is because those things are important to them and may have some meaning. Places like my bedroom are places where we can relax and be comfortable and I think that is why it is important to people, because we can be ourselves and feel comfortable, we can also just sit down and rest our bones and relax. Another important reason is we can go there when we want privacy, we can just shut our door, maybe even lock it, and tell everyone in our household not to bother us. Also our rooms hold most of our personal belongings and those things are important to us and we do not want anyone else to touch them or in some cases go near them.
My house is quite large. It has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, two living rooms, a dining room, a special games room and a big front and back garden.
place I would have to go to before and after school. I have always loved my
