My Role Model

In Today’s world there are many things that try to tell us being Catholic is wrong. As Catholics we have to take this on every day, and are challenged to not listen to it. The Ten Commandments are a guide for us to ignore the things people are telling. If we look at celebrities and people that are common role models, we should ask ourselves if they are the type of people we should be following. The people we should have as our role models are people that follow the Ten Commandments, rather than those who do not. My mom is a great role model to me, because she obeys the Ten Commandments to the best of her ability. Unlike society, my mom does not do the “normal” things that we are taught not to do. This first point on my list is sin. Everybody on earth sins, so it’s not like Christians don’t, but we try not to as well as we can and go to confession. Sin happens all the time and is often overlooked as why it is wrong. Obviously sin is important, because a man, Jesus Christ, died just so that we could be saved from them. Sin is so powerful, because it causes people to get mad at each other for whatever thing they did wrong. The next point on my list is not giving praise to God. People do not thank God for everything that he has given us. Everything that is in our lives is possible because of God, and sometimes we don’t even give thanks for it. We get things that some people aren’t able to get, then we don’t even thank God for the opportunity of getting it. Next on my list, I have the story of creation. Christians believe that God created the world in a seven-day process. Society tells us that the earth was formed over millions of years, rather than how God created it. It is hand for Christians to believe the Story of creations, because of scientists saying different. We have to believe the Story of creation, because we should never show doubt in God.
